There is nothing budget friendly about getting new kitchen countertops. But also, why live with something you absolutely hate? The answer is you don’t have to. Last fall while I was renovating my kitchen, I decided to transform my dark speckled granite countertops into a white carrara marble finish simply by painting them! It took me three base coats of white primer, and then I added “veining” by dragging a skinny paint brush dipped in charcoal grey paint and misting it with water for a feathered effect. But won’t they get damaged? That’s where the epoxy topcoat comes in. The epoxy adds a shine and protects the new “marble” from everyday kitchen use. I’m 4 months into using mine and they’ve been holding up great! The countertop kits have everything you need from start to finish. Would you try this budget friendly DIY?
