Wearing a 33R in the wide leg trouser, and I’m 5’6” with 48” hips and 36” waist for reference. ✨It’s not you, it’s the clothes ✨These pants may look really similar, but there are some key differences that make the trousers on the right work well for my hourglass body shape. Why I don’t feel good in Pant 1: * They have a straight leg, so by design there isn’t extra room in the hip area for me * The front is pleated once, which adds a little give but not in a meaningful way for my belly * The material is super thin and has no structure- you can see how the waistband just folds into itself and the zipper is pulling Why Pant 2 makes me feel confident: * They have a wide leg, which gives me much more room in the hips (this 48” gotta go somewhere yall!) * The front is double pleated, creating extra room in the tummy area. Nothing is pulling or stretched * The material is thicker and more structured- the waist stays in place and the pants fall nicely, almost grazing my midsection instead of hugging it (look at the side profile difference!)
