Summer for my boys is coming very fast. I’m already planning on how to fill our days to make it both fun and full of growth. One thing I’m going to implement into our days is the 20 minute candle.

It’s basically a candle that is lit for— you guessed it— 20 minutes before it dies out. We’ll have Bible/prayer time during this time together. 🙏🏼 I’m so excited about it because my boys just loooove doing things together and I just know they’ll be excited to take turns lighting it.

I don’t like their lighting. It drives me nuts. 🤣🫣 Ok there. Needless to say, I found these online and the price tag was so crazy I added them to cart before it changed. 😅

They added the height I needed for these little bushes by my giant front doors. 🙌🏼 They’re currently out of stock, but save them and get alerted for when they’re back because they’re soooo worth it!

I love velvet, by my cats’ fur doesn’t!

Honestly, it doesn’t change a thing for me because I love velvet anyway and my cats are with me until the Lord calls them home. Thankfully this little tool has made cleaning a total breeze. 🥹 I even used it to clean some lampshades recently because Sugar’s fur is so dang long that it lands everywhere. 😂

I can’t stand recharging things, so the fact that I can use it without swapping batteries or charging it was a major plus. If you’ve got pets or just lint, I highly recommend this little tool!

It’s sooooo important to trim your wicks!

Almost 100% of the houses I’ve been to have candles burning with untrimmed wicks. I make it a point to tell whoever’s house I’m at why trims needs to be trimmed. Here is why you need to do this:
• clean burn (notice the black around your candles? That’s NOT clean burning. This can also end up in your lungs.)
• longer lasting (big flames = more heat = candle running out quickly)
• controlled flame (less risk of a fire)
• better scent (less of a burning smell)

You can buy a wick trimmer anywhere, but here are my faves.

I took a chance on these plates from Target, and I’m so happy I did!

They had low reviews because of the shipping. Nothing new. lol People received theirs broken, so I was anticipating they’d arrive in pieces. They came whole. 🥹

I had wanted plates for my birthday, but couldn’t find some I truly liked. When I finally did, they arrived discolored and Aidric was like, “A designer shouldn’t own these.” 😂 He was right.

I’m glad I waited, because these released a little while after and now were my Christmas gift. 🎁

@kingofchristmas solved a problem we had in our household. I loooooove white lights but the boys love colors. We can be alternating between both now!

And yes! The boys were super excited to see all the colors which makes this mom beyond proud.

For reference, this is a 9 foot tree! And I love that it’s slim but not sooo thin like a pencil tree. It fit perfectly in its yearly spot.

At night, they provide a warm light as well with the shape of their shades. I much prefer LED tapers over the real thing in some cases because well… kids throw toys and things can catch fire. 😑 I’ll take the look of tapers on for a cozy atmosphere over none at all.
