If you want to shake up your black pants routine, gray pants are a great alternative and go with so many colors. I’m linking some of my favorite gray pants. These are from @Target. I sized up to a medium to get them over my hips. They do run on the longer side with flat shoes at 5’6” but they’re amazingly comfortable! I’m wearing low heeled ankle boots, and flat shoes in these pictures. If I wore them with flat shoes, I’d hem them with hem tape. I linked a nearly identical pair from LOFT and a wide leg patch pocket pair from LOFT as well. I adore this green sweater from Target. For the best selection, it pays to shop for tall boots early, especially if you’re looking for wide calf options. My calf circumference is 14.5”and these LOFT black squared pointy-toe booties have a 14.33” circumference and work for me. The brown is sold out, but black’s still in stock. This little styling trick makes such a difference when you’re wearing a sweater. Push up the sleeves to draw the eye toward your waist and keep the look from feeling frumpy. Then front tuck or tuck both the front and back like I did here so it hits right at the hips.

If you have a belly, I understand wanting a longer sweater to cover your midsection, but that can make your upper body look shapeless. Instead, try a soft front-tuck and let the front drape over the waistband. It hints at a defined waistline without showing every curve.

Low ankle boots with a side V-cut are out. They worked with skinny jeans, but now they look dated.

Here are 4 styles to wear instead:

There are so many good jacket styles out this fall!
