Single mama craft night 🐟🤍

The night’s masterpiece started as an empty cardboard box. 📦 🎨

We drew fish, cut them out using the best tool ever (electric cardboard cutter), painted them every color imaginable, and somehow turned something headed for the recycling bin into an evening we’ll probably remember forever…and they’ll probably repeat with their kids, while never seeing a box 📦 the same. 🐠

The funny thing is, the older I get, the more I realize the things my girls talk about later aren’t the perfectly planned days, rather the messy nights. 🖌️

It’s the fish made from cardboard.
The paint on their hands.
The giggles when Brave started shaking her brush like a catholic priest at a baptism for a hot second…
The way the sun hit the lake and dropped into the horizon while we played.

These are the moments that build a childhood.

Not because they’re big.
Because they’re little.

Including big sister making little sister a homemade “roll” of stickers to avoid a meltdown out of the toilet paper roll 🧻… 💪

And if there’s one thing this single mama is learning, kidding, it’s always many things we learn, but one is it’s that a beautiful life isn’t made from having everything.

It’s made from making something out of whatever you’ve got. ✨

Things That Matter to Them as a Mama 🤍🌮✨

The older I get, the more I realize it’s not the “perfect” things our kids will remember…it’s the routines, rituals, and traditions we create along the way.

The banners made at the kitchen table.
The grocery runs together.
The tiny hands helping cook dinner.
The music playing while everyone decorates.
The way mama made an ordinary school night feel like a celebration anyway.

Tonight we hosted Cinco de Mayo with friends, and just like every holiday around here, the kids made the banner themselves 🎉

I cooked before gymnastics 🤸 so when we got home, dinner was warm, ready, and waiting thanks to my favorite 3-tray crockpot setup 🙌🏼

…Which honestly made the whole night feel easier, calmer, and way more present. Less time stressing in the kitchen = more time making memories.

And one day?
They’ll remember that mama always fiesta-ed with them on Cinco de Mayo 🌮💃🏼✨

Pizza night, made easy 🍕🔥like easy bake oven easy!

We finally added a pizza oven to our home setup and we are officially obsessed. Crispy crust, melty cheese, and the kids love making their own creations (way more fun than delivery). It heats fast, cooks evenly, and makes at-home nights feel like a restaurant experience without the price tag. My car always has a bag of these in it and the scents are amazing and it’s goat milk based! The big pack is in a basket between car seats and a thin pack is within reach while driving!

Climbing into the New Year with my daughter and a whole lot of gratitude 🤍🧗‍♀️
