my daughter has five brothers, so sometimes i like to do something that’s just for her.

nothing huge. just a little reminder that i see her and she deserves to feel special too.

so i made her a little back-to-school basket with some fun things she’d actually use, including the new Piggy Paint detangler and leave-in conditioner.

i’ve always loved the story behind @piggypaint. it was created by a mom who was also a teacher because she wanted safer products for her own kids.

kicking each other.
calling each other names.
playing tag in the aisles.
running the cart into each other.
rolling around on the floor like they were raised by wolves.

meanwhile i’m trying to figure out five different school supply lists while also quietly having a financial crisis in aisle 12.

so yes.

i went and got myself a chocolate malt.

i don’t even like ice cream.

and i sat in the car and drank it directly in front of them while explaining that had they behaved like civilized human beings, they could’ve had one too.

was this my finest parenting moment?

probably not.

did it make me feel better?

absolutely.

motherhood is beautiful.
motherhood is meaningful.
motherhood also makes you do some petty shit sometimes.

i really thought all six of my kids were going to participate in my little cleaning challenge for a chance to pick out a new toy at target.

lol. nope.

lennon and giorgio were the only two who actually put in the work, so they earned the prize.

they picked @my_clixo magnetic building sets, and these are seriously so cool. the pieces click together, bend, and can turn into dinosaurs, airplanes, creatures… basically whatever they can come up with.

the other four definitely regretted their decision not to participate once they saw what the winners got.

Confession: I earned some serious cool mom points in Sicily. 😎📸

When I surprised my kids with their InstaLux cameras, they were absolutely obsessed. They spent the day deciding what was “picture-worthy,” waiting for each photo to develop, and comparing all the photos they took.

Not only did it keep them entertained while we explored Sicily, but they each got to bring home little souvenirs they created themselves. Honestly, those photos ended up meaning more than anything we could’ve bought in a gift shop.

By the end of the trip, they kept telling me I was the “cool mom” and that everyone needed an InstaLux camera. 😂
