I started this room with the idea of something moody, warm and layered. The blue walls make the wine sofa feel less cool. The rug might feel like a bold choice at first, but checkerboard is such a classic pattern, and in this softer palette it gives the room a little personality without taking over. The light nutmeg coffee table with a travertine top brings in another layer of warmth and texture. What I like most is the mix.
