A sweet friend gave me these 3 hydrangea bushes after we moved into our home over 2 years ago. This is the first flowering season that I've let myself clip the blooms! I decided to pick the ones from the back to encourage the bush to grow away from the house and to keep it from wasting energy on blooms hidden from view. Here are my tips for harvesting hydrangeas:1. Always snip at an angle2. Cut the hydrangea right above a leaf to encourage new growth3. Do not cut into the woody part of the plant unless you are okay with that stem not growing anymore4. Remove ALL the leaves off the bloom you've harvested5. Strip the last inch or two of the stem before popping in into a vase6. Once your hydrangeas are in a vase, make sure the water stays clean and topped offDrop any hydrangea questions below!

I decided to go ahead and share my sourdough tutorial video tonight since everyone is stuck at home for the weekend during this winter weather! I am definitely not an expert, so I'm sure I use the wrong lingo and techniques at times. I've been baking one to two loaves per week for almost a year, and every one has been a success! The key lies in a strong starter and consistency. Baking sourdough has become a wholesome weekly routine for me. As someone who has been gluten sensitive for over a decade, it's been such a treat to finally have bread that helps me feel good!
