Our basement was mostly done but it still didn’t feel finished.

These three things made the biggest difference. A rug to define the sitting area, a sideboard that hides toys and blankets, and finishing the bathroom so the space actually functions like a real level of the house.

I get asked about this all the time, so here it is ⬇️

I don’t regret buying my double stackable LG for a single second — and if you have kids (or laundry that never ends), you’ll understand why.

We’re a family of 6. Laundry doesn’t happen once a week in this house — it’s constant. Being able to run two loads at the same time has completely changed how manageable it feels. No more all-day laundry marathons, no more piles waiting their turn.

Another thing people assume is that this takes up more space — it doesn’t. It has the same footprint as a standard washer/dryer, which was huge for us. We gained efficiency without sacrificing square footage.

And yes, I thought about the energy side of it. We have one electric and one gas, which helps offset the bills instead of doubling them. That balance made this decision feel practical, not excessive.

The biggest difference though? Laundry actually moves now. It doesn’t pile up. I can stay on top of it in smaller chunks instead of feeling buried. For a house with 4 kids, that’s priceless.

Plus… I bought it on Black Friday, so it basically felt like I got one for free 😜

This wasn’t about being extra — it was about choosing something that works with our life instead of against it.

If you’re drowning in laundry and wondering if this is overkill… it’s not.
For us, it was the smartest home upgrade we’ve made.
