This Saturday we had the pleasure of attending two wonderful inaugural events, Dallas Hope Charities’ Legacy of Hope Charity Brunch and the Pride Kelso (Keller-Southlake) Festival!!!

For those of you who have been following along with us, you know that @dallashopecharities is an organization that is very near and dear to our hearts and we are so happy that we were able to attend DHC’s first Legacy of Hope event and hear from some of the wonderful individuals that have lived and thrived at the Hope Center over the years; in addition to the iconic Mark Segal who was interviewed by our friend and DHC board member @roscraigco!

Following Legacy of Hope, we rushed back home 🏃🏽‍♀️ to change so that we could attend the first annual @pridekelso event! As long standing residents of the North Texas area, and as previous residents of the Lake’s, being able to attend this inaugural event means so much to us, and the organizers April & Shaina Dreyson (@thedreyson)did the damn thing!! We’ve both attended and tabled at a lot of pride events in the metroplex, but this one was easily one of our favorites! There was a bit of backlash from the surrounding community, but for every insignificant bit of hate there was, there was 100x more love, acceptance, and fun happening within the festival “walls” that outshone anything and everything that was happening outside of it 💫.

💫 The Power of Community and Connection 💫

Last night we had the pleasure of attending the @dallasregionalchamber’s Community Connections: Strengthening Business, Shaping Communities event, where we got to hear Dennis Cail II, the CEO and Co-founder of @zirtue and Frances Smith-Dean, the Executive Director of @zwhjcoc, and moderator Marcelo Mills of @americannationalbanktexas talk about the power of community banking and the benefit that entrepreneurs and small businesses can experience from partnering with them, hosted in the newly renovated and very beautiful Park South Family YMCA!

I have to give a special shout out to DRC’s SVP of Opportunity & Impact Latosha Herron-Bruff for inviting us to the event, and providing us with the opportunity to learn from some amazing folks ☺️.

New Year, New Us!

As some of yall may have noticed, we have been making some changes over the past few months to better align ourselves with our current and future plans and values moving into 2026. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to be in business for almost 6 years now, and we know that as the times change we have to as well!

We’ll always be working with folks across North America, but this year we really want to focus on collaborating with and supporting the local businesses here in our home “town” of DFW. 💙

I became single again when I was 55 and had no clue how to get back out there. This is one of the reasons that I decided to become a matchmaker and a date & relationship coach.

Recently I was having a conversation with some people who were trying to figure out my age and it was a really sweet conversation and it made me realize that having a peaceful and drama free relationship helps me to live a stress free life and I believe that shows in my appearance. ☺️

How do I start prioritizing dating again as a single parent? 💭

Over the years, this is one of the questions I get a lot from single moms–and some single dads too–and the truth is that dating when you have children, especially young children, is difficult.

Being a parent is a full-time job in itself, and with everything else we have going on, dating can often be something that we put on the back burner of life.

But that doesn’t always have to be the case!

It might take more planning, but if anyone can do it, it’s you, Mama! 🫶🏼

I have lived in Coppell for three years and I am not sure that I have ever seen the dog park before, so we had to take our dog there this morning.

He loves to walk around and explore and sometimes plays with other dogs but for the most part he’s a loner. 🐾

Thoughts On Age Gap Relationships ⬇️

Truthfully, for the longest time I have been against age gap relationships where one person is more than 15 years older than the other person.

However, nowadays I am starting to loosen up on my hesitations against larger age gap relationships because at the end of the day, the most important part is that people find someone who they can enjoy spending time with, and who they can happily share their life with.

Am I still an advocate for dating someone closer to your age? Yes! Do I think that being in a 15+ year age gap at 25 v at 45 is a little different? Also yes lol 😅.

But ultimately, if that’s what makes two adults happy, who am I to judge?
