It’s sequin season - whether you want to wear them now or for New Year’s Eve, here are three ideas for casual to full-on festive!

#LTKOver40 #LTKHoliday #LTKSeasonal
Nothing screams “holiday” more than velvet! It’s soft, feminine and perfectly festive.
I’ve put together three ideas on how to wear velvet this season - pairing it with denim, cashmere and leather. It works with all different fabrics and creates a beautifully textured look.

You don’t have to go with black - think blue, purple, green and more!

I’ve had a lot of questions about how I picked one dress for four models - including four body types and skin tones! So here are all the details. Wait for end to see all the looks and you can shop then all here!

#LTKOver40 #LTKSeasonal #LTKHoliday
On my recent Style Files segment on WGN-TV in Chicago, I show how you can really buy just one holiday dress and swap out the shoes and accessories to make it work for every occasion.

Best of all, all these pieces are affordable on Amazon. (Spoiler alert- the dress is only $50)

I’ve included links to all the looks!

#LTKHoliday #LTKSeasonal #LTKOver40
I used to only have belts with gold or silver buckles and I would pick the one that best aligned with my jewelry or outfit. But a black buckle changes everything! No more limits on color! You can have a great belted look without any distraction!

I have included multiple belts with black buckles and I will include links to my outfit, too!

#LTKOver40 #LTKHoliday #LTKSeasonal
It’s sequin pants season and the possibilities are endless! But I narrowed it down to three!

You can start with bright and festive with a red satin blouse. Or, add a fuzzy white sweater for a timeless look. Finally, monochrome black is always chic - add some faux fur for fun!

I’m Dianne, an over 50 personal stylist who has loved clothes for my entire life - thanks to my mom. She was the original fashionista in our family and she handed down that love to me. Now I am trying to share that love with all of you!

Great looks on Amazon - all for under $65! A great way to add a new look to your holiday wardrobe without breaking the bank.

Gap’s Cyber Monday deals are going on now! And things are going fast! Everything is 50% off!

I bought my bag just a couple of days ago and it’s gone - but no fear, I found a few similar ones. My sweater is still available- but in black.

Don’t wait! The deals are amazing. Make sure to check out their cash soft line. It’s so close to cashmere for a fraction of the price.

And check out my collage post with all my Gap favorites this season!

The Hallmark Christmas Movie Coat.
Whether you’re a fan of the movies or not, you have to agree that the coats are awesome. I do enjoy the movies, but I think I enjoy the fashion even more.

These first two coats are both from Charlie B. What I love about them is that they are just a little different, but still festive. Make sure to scroll to see my collage on how to get the complete Hallmark Christmas movie look.

Here are my favorite Macy’s holiday picks - all on sale today for Black Friday!

And make sure to check out my recent post on one of my favorite Macy’s outfits!

#LTKGiftGuide #LTKCyberWeek #LTKHoliday
I have been a huge Macy’s fan for years. They have classic as well as trending pieces all at different price points. It’s my go-to store when I need something special for work or play!

Make sure to check my separate post on my Macy’s holiday picks'

Yes, this dress really is from Kohl’s! And the best part - with their BF specials it only $50.

You can dress it up for the holidays with some sparkly jewelry, but it can be won all season long. Looks just as great with boots as it does pumps.

It comes with a seal-tie belt, but I prefer a more structured belt look. The one I am wearing is from Commense is just $12.

Yes! You can wear brown for the holidays! 🤎

Brown is definitely having a moment and there’s no reason to pack it away after Thanksgiving. Sure, you can pull out the red and green, but don’t leave brown behind.

I’ve got three easy ways to make brown festive and fun:

✨Faux fur - in cuffs or in a faux fur collar or wrap

✨A holiday statement necklace. I have on a poinsettia necklace but crystal and pearls work great too.

✨Metallic glam - a gold metallic wrap and bag instantly says holiday. You can try some fun metallic shoes too!

Will you wear brown for the holidays?

A menswear look with a feminine touch - a pearl tie.

I’ve always liked a menswear look - on other people - but when I found this pearl tie on Amazon for under $10, it was just what I needed to give the look a try. I love the juxtaposition of the soft pearls with the all- lack look.

The “tie” is adjustable so you can wear it lower, almost like a necklace too. It’s a great piece to add to your holiday accessories.

Office Party Look 3️⃣

With things being so casual these days, Injad to include a jeans look. A classic white shirt with embellishment, paired with dark wash jeans and booties is a great modern office party look.
Office Party Look 2️⃣

Want to be subtle, yet chic? All black ways works, but I added a subtle detail with the sweater with the embellished collar. Still looks professional but understated.

(I would totally wear this top with jeans too)

#LTKHoliday #LTKSeasonal #LTKOver40
Office Party Look 1️⃣

Want to look festive, yet still polished? A red pantsuit with a festive scarf scarf will do the trick.

You can always swap the scarf for plaid pumps or a plaid handbag!

#LTKHoliday #LTKOver40 #LTKSeasonal
Office holiday parties can be tricky – you want to be festive but still professional. The three looks I put together are:

1️⃣Polished + Festive: Red pantsuit

2️⃣Chic + Subtle: Black sweater with embellished color and black flare trousers

3️⃣Modern + Casual: Embellished white cotton blouse and dark wash jeans

Which look is right for your office party this year? 1, 2, or 3?
Do I really need another water bottle? No, not really. But I couldn’t resist having this for the holiday season! I will link this exact one, but there is another great option in a candy cane stripe that I will also link - as well as the straw cover!

Makes an awesome gift too!!

#LTKSeasonal #LTKHoliday #LTKGiftGuide
This will be my “uniform” all season long.
I’ll wear a puffer coat when it’s really cold out or I am doing things outside. But for running around this holiday season, I prefer something a little lighter, and more elevated. I will typically wear a heavier coat to the mall and then swap for a lighter jacket while I am shopping. This gives me a more elevated look and I don’t have to either wear or carry a heavy coat.

You’ll also see me in sneakers too. I do like a fun platform sneaker for style, but I like more athletic types when I am on the run. I will add those too.

My shearling jacket is the Suede and Sherpa stitch ten reversible jacket from Dylan. I could not find it on an eligible LTK site, but you can find it on vonmaur.com. I have linked similar jackets.

#LTKOver40 #LTKCyberWeek #LTKHoliday
Belts are back — and they’re doing more than holding things together.

This season, the hourglass shape is everywhere, and one of the easiest ways to get the look is to belt your blazer. It’s such a simple trick, but it instantly adds shape, polish, and confidence.

I love how something this small can completely change the feel of an outfit from classic to current in one snap.

Today is all about jewel tones for Thanksgiving. 💎

Yesterday was all about the brown earth tones. Now let’s talk about those jewel tones. All three of these colors still look great for fall and have some “earthiness” about them. If you’re looking for a great color for Thanksgiving, but browns are not for you, consider these three great colors.

Outfit 1: Teal is my favorite blue/green for this time of year. It’s also a color that is flattering to almost everyone. This dress is fun too - the fit and flare style makes it easy to have an extra helping of mashed potatoes.
Dress: Amazon
Boots: Vince Camuto

Outfit 2: While I tend to wait to wear green until after Thanksgiving, pairing it with these tan corduroy pants makes it look more fall than holiday. I intentionally matched my boots to my pants to give my legs a long, extended look.
Sweater: Nordstrom Rack
Pants: Banana Republic Factory
Boots: Target

Outfit 3: Burgundy is on of the best fall colors. You can match it with so many things. I kept it simple with my wide leg jeans, a perfect casual look for the holiday.
Sweater: Nordstrom Rack
Jeans: Nordstrom Rack

Some of my original pieces are not longer available but I am linking similar pieces.

I am always drawn to earth tones for my Thanksgiving outfits. In some ways I feel it’s my “last’ chance to wear these colors before I shift to red and green.

In that spirit, I put together three outfits in my favorite fall colors for inspiration for you own Thanksgiving outfits. 🍂

Outfit 1: I love this shade of brown because it’s so flattering on everyone. While this dress from Amazon is a little more form fitting, it is really soft and comfortable. You could easily swap out the pumps for boots to make it a little more casual.

Outfit 2: I shared with jacket with a navy polo dress earlier this season and you all loved it. This time I am making it a little casual with the stripe top and some dark wash jeans.
Jacket and top: Macy’s
Jeans: Ann Taylor

Oufit 3: For a look that’s not jeans or a dress, how about a pair of trousers? Plaid fits the season and I love a short sleeve sweater for the holidays, especially if you’re the one in the kitchen.
Sweater: Marshall’s
Pants: Loft Factory

#LTKHoliday #LTKSeasonal #LTKOver40
Who doesn’t love a faux suede skirt? Especially in time for Thanksgiving and under $35 from Amazon?
The A-line of this skirt is perfect festive and flattering to most body shapes.

I love the traditional rust color for fall, but it does come in lots of other colors, including a whiner white that I am eyeing for the holidays!

#LTKStyleTip #LTKSeasonal #LTKOver40
As a stylist, I shop in every store at every price point. I truly believe that you can find at least one great piece in every store. So, while I have my favorite stores, I am open to anything and everything. I love the “hunt” for great pieces, especially for my clients. If you work with me, I’ll do my best to find the best pieces that suit your style, no matter your budget.

So, how did the $9 vest from Amaon turn out? I’d say it was “OK”. No one will confuse it with a “luxury” piece, but it’s not bad! (It’s now $16)

Am I keeping it? Yes I am! I will find way to style it and a place to wear it. I am always up for the challenge!

If you’re looking for style advice that’s more than one dimensional, follow me here on LTK.

And, you can shop my look!

Ever put on a midi skirt and thought, something just doesn’t look right?
You’re not imagining it — an inch or two can completely change your proportions.

Here’s the rule I use with clients: your midi should hit just below the widest part of your calf, where your leg begins to narrow again. That’s what makes it flattering, balanced, and intentional.

I’m breaking down exactly how to find your perfect length (and what shoes work best with each fabric) on the my blog at www.dianneinstyle.com
I used to avoid faux leather because I wasn’t sure how to get the wrinkles out. But now that I’ve found a safe way to do that, it’s back in my closet.

Faux leather almost always have a fabric backing which is what makes it easy to steam and get the wrinkles out. All you have to do is turn the garment inside out to steam it. I always start on the lowest setting and slowly increase it if necessary.

You can usually see the wrinkles on the fabric, making it easy to know exactly where to use your steamer.

Pull back any faux leather, even on the inside as to not damage it. I do check the top before putting away the steamer to make sure the wrinkles are out. For this top, because of the gathering, I did steam it twice.

Have you tried this before? How did it work for you?

Follow for more tips like this!

Plaid just feels like fall, doesn’t it? 🍂

It’s one of those timeless patterns that always comes back this time of year — but this season, it’s showing up in softer colors and more modern cuts that make it perfect for work and weekends.

From pencil skirts to long coats and tailored trousers, plaid instantly adds polish and personality to your look. It’s confident without trying too hard and that’s why I love it.

My new blog post is live! I’m sharing the top fall trends for work — and plaid definitely made the list.

#LTKStyleTip #LTKOver40 #LTKWorkwear
Faux leather is so on trend this season - even more than last year.

We’re finding it in all forms - jackets, tops, pants, dresses, skirts and more. Here are just three ways that I like to wear leather, perfect for all women 50+. Adding just one leather piece to your wardrobe will give you an instant updated look.

It’s leather season - let’s have fun with it!

#LTKStyleTip #LTKSeasonal #LTKOver40
💜 Purple: A color you’ll be seeing a lot of this fall.

Purple was seen all over the Fall 2025 runways and I couldn’t be happier - it just happens to be my favorite color. We’re seeing it in everything - from fun leather jackets to elegant work wear.

Historically, purple has been linked to royalty, wisdom, and creativity. In color psychology, it’s often associated with confidence and authority, yet it carries a softer, more imaginative edge than black. The nice thing about purple is that there is a shade that works for most skin tones. From pastel lavender to deep plum, there is a flattering shade for you.
Plaid is back for fall this season - but with a modern twist. Updates cuts like these ankle pants paired with modern textures, belts and hardware. Just one pair can give you three looks.
I just can’t get enough of this rusty brown/navy color combo. I intentionally kept this look a little “matchy-matchy” because I didn’t want to distract from the elegance and simplicity of the color combination.
