The rug completely changed this outdoor space. Adding an outdoor area rug is one of the easiest ways to make a patio feel finished, cozy, and intentionally designed instead of just “furniture sitting outside.” A few outdoor rug tips that actually matter before you buy one: • Go bigger than you think. A too-small rug makes the whole space feel off balance. • Make sure at least the front legs of your furniture sit on the rug. • Choose a darker tone or textured pattern if you have kids, pets, or lots of foot traffic. • Polypropylene rugs hold up best outdoors and are much easier to clean (this is it).
