Let me start with the background: You can see in my highlight that I’ve been using less toxic mascaras for about 6 years. The original less toxic mascaras were kinda hard to work with because they were waxy. For the past year or 2, I’ve used 3 different kinds, made sure to use 2 tubes each to compare and contrast and get a feel for how they “age.” My top two favorites (of the 3 I tried): @thrivecausemetics liquid lash extensions are rated a 3 on the EWG toxicity rating and give you long lashes! To me, it’s a little hard to get off with my typical cleanser and it comes off in strange flaky chunks because the fibers, I was assume. @iliabeauty fullest volume song mascara is a 2 on the EWG toxicity rating and therefore it’s the one I use lots of the time. Opening a new tube, it’s amazing and gives amazing lashes! As you use it though, about a month in, it gets more waxy and isn’t as perfect. So, I do the Ilia for daily most of the time and the thrive for special occasions or nights out. My choice is based solely on the toxicity rating for my daily use but I do like thrive better in terms of performance. Remember my criteria for less toxic beauty is always less toxicity but also whether or not it works! Less toxic mascaras have come a long way! LTKFindsUnder50 LTKOver40 LTKBeauty
