Donโt be confused โ I have ๐ก๐ข๐ง turned into a cat person ๐ ๐พ โ This photo actually has a pretty incredible story behind it. With the help of a neighbor, we safely trapped this sweet, friendly cat after seeing him wandering our neighborhood. We scanned for a microchip, but none was found โ a reminder that microchipping is one of the BEST ways to protect your pet if they ever get loose. โ We searched everywhere for an owner: flyers, neighborhood posts, and listings on @pawboost and @petcolovelostโฆ but no one came forward. โ Sadly, we couldnโt keep him due to allergies and our other pets. My neighbor was already maxed out after rescuing several cats during the winter cold, but somehow she miraculously found an amazing adopter for the cat we had started calling โFriday.โ ๐งก โ After living here for more than 20 years, weโve never seen so many stray cats in one winter. I learned a LOT through this experience โ especially that many indoor/outdoor cats arenโt spayed or neutered. Even indoor cats can escape, and one unexpected adventure can quickly lead to litters of kittens needing homes. โ Meanwhile, local shelters are already overwhelmed with cats, dogs, puppies, and kittens waiting for families. โ Today is World Spay Day โ a reminder that spaying and neutering helps far beyond preventing unwanted litters. 12 months depending on breed and size โ ask your vet whatโs best. โ Additional benefits include: โ Longer, healthier lives โ Prevention of certain cancers & infections โ Less roaming and fewer injuries โ Reduced spraying/marking behaviors โ Lower aggression linked to hormones โ Helps reduce overcrowded shelters โ Please do your part. One small decision can make a lifelong difference for pets and our community. ๐ โ ๐พ If you found this helpful, consider saving this post to reference later or sharing it with a fellow pet owner โ awareness truly makes a difference.โค๏ธ โ AnimalAdvocates WorldSpayDay SpayNeuter PetParents ResponsiblePetOwnership
