I couldn’t find the statement piece I wanted, so I made it. 🤍 Here’s how I created this vintage-modern bowl: • Started with a bowl that had a rough texture for better adhesion • Rolled out air-dry clay with a dough roller • Used a cookie cutter molding set to create flowers and leaves in batches • Used the tip of a knife to add a little more definition to the leaves • Added a thin layer of clay around the rim of the bowl • Used water as my “glue” to attach each flower and leaf • Worked in small sections until the entire edge was covered • Let it dry overnight For the finish: • Mixed paint and water in a 50/50 ratio • Painted the entire bowl and let it dry • Used a small brush to add a light brown wash to the flower and leaf details • Applied Rub ’n Buff in brass to highlight the raised edges • Finished with a matte spray sealer Note: This bowl is intended as a decorative piece only and is not food safe. One bowl, some clay, and a little creativity later… my new favorite statement piece. diyhomedecor airdryclay homedecor CozyHome diydecor
