A new addition to my wellness library 📖

I think what I appreciate most about this book (which was developed in the UK by a naturopath, herbal practitioner, cosmetic scientist and aromatherapist, a nutritional therapist, and an advocate for sustainable living) is its holistic wellness approach — it combines recommendations for food, herbal teas, lifestyle changes, and other therapies (like counseling, hydrotherapy, acupressure, massage therapy, aromatherapy, etc.) to address the whole person. I absolutely love my doctors — find you a doctor who truly listens and cares about you, it’s a game changer — and this is something I’m using in combination with their recommendations.

Below I’ve linked some of my favorite clean living supplies, natural wellness products, remedies, etc. that I’ve found or have been recommended to me.

*please note that I’m not a doctor. I highly recommend having a traditional doctor and a naturopath who can give you personalized health recommendations and treatments. I share everything I’m doing with my doctors to ensure I’m doing what’s best for my body.

These little jars are my new obsession! I started meal planning my morning smoothies in these (recipes below!) 🍓

We store them in the freezer and then pull them out and add homemade almond milk, blitzing everything into a delicious healthy smoothie.

Three of my favorites:

Strawberry and Banana Smoothie
- 4-5 large strawberries
- 1 whole banana
- 2 heaping spoonfuls of plain Greek yogurt (sometimes it’s better to add when blending vs freezing)
- 2 spoonfuls of seed mix (chia, flax, sunflower)
- 1 scoop of acacia powder and collagen powder
- drizzle of wildflower honey
- 2-3 large spoonfuls of cinnamon granola
- vanilla (optional)
- Freeze, then when you’re ready, blend with 8 oz almond milk

Apple Cinnamon Smoothie
- 1/2 of a Granny Smith apple
- 2-3 heaping spoonfuls of plain Greek yogurt
- handful of almonds
- handful of hazelnuts
- 2 spoonfuls of seed mix (chia, flax, sunflower)
- 1 scoop of acacia powder and collagen powder
- 2 drops of maple syrup or a drizzle of wildflower honey
- 3 heaping spoonfuls of granola
- dash of cinnamon
- dash of nutmeg
- vanilla (optional)
- Freeze, then when you’re ready, blend with 8 oz almond milk

Berry Smoothie
- 4 strawberries, quartered
- 2-3 handfuls of blueberries
- handful of raspberries
- handful of blackberries
- 2 heaping spoonfuls of plain Greek yogurt
- 2 spoonfuls of seed mix (chia, flax, sunflower)
- 1 scoop of acacia powder and collagen powder
- drizzle of elderberry honey
- Freeze, then when you’re ready, blend with 8 oz almond milk

Another spring must — sprouts and micro greens 💚

I recently purchased a sprouting kit so I can grow sprouts to add to my meals. Sprouts have so many health benefits, which being autoimmune is so important for me, including reducing inflammation, reducing bad cholesterol, improving gut health, cancer fighting… the list goes on. Make sure to do lots of reading to ensure your sprouts are properly cleaned, organic, and safe. Sustainability is a focus for me this year, so I’m really excited 🌱

Ok but I needed to test these heatless curls for myself… so I have two feelings overall about this:

- firstly, they do work. I’m not a huge fan sleeping in it, but it’s not that different from putting your hair up another way at night
- second, my preferred way to use them (slightly different from how they’re advertised) is to take a morning shower, wait for it to be 70% dry and then put my hair in it 🎀

It’s hair wash day! 💆🏼‍♀️🚿

I wash my hair every couple days, but before I even get in the shower I start with this Briogeo charcoal and tea tree spray for my scalp. It breaks down any product or dry shampoo in my hair so I don’t have to waste so much shampoo…

If I have a lot of product in my hair, I start with this Christophe Robin salt scrub, which as you can see is nearly gone. Today I’m also going in with T-Sal which is a salicylic acid shampoo which helps prevent and control psoriasis that my dermatologist told me to use.

I love redkin so I use their all soft and their color protecting shampoo and conditioner. I also use olaplex for a deep condition which my hairdresser recommended.

These are two of my favorite body washes. The first is fragrance free and the neom is my choice if I want a scent to linger a bit.

After I wash my hair, I put it up in this terry cloth towel that I’m completely obsessed with! It’s super absorbent and it tucks into this little tab in the back. It’s literal magic. I can’t live without it.

When my hair is still a bit damp I spray this leave in conditioning spray and brush it through. This paddle brush is my absolute favorite, and then I put my hair up in a bun with either a thicker silk scrunchy or this smaller one.

My hair care routine is basically down to a science at this point 🖤

These are some of the beauty and hair care products that I genuinely can’t live without… that hair towel is just PERFECTION. Obsession doesn’t even cover it. My hair stylist also has me using Redken’s All Soft and then a special deep conditioning hair mask every week. In between showers I use primarily my powder dry shampoos (to avoid cancer causing ingredients).

My hair is so healthy and happy!
