happy wednesday curly babes✨here’s my low-tension hairstyle for the week—what do we think?👀

y’all were on my assss for that last style 💀😂 but it worked for me honey! I tend to get fairy knots, so end protection is a must when it comes to retaining length. 
now this wash and go is a liiikkle different—here’s why:

1. ➰ minimal manipulation – 0 stretching, braiding, or putting tension on my hair shaft
2. 🔥 steam for product absorption – steam opens the cuticle, letting my leave-in + gel penetrate better = longer-lasting moisture & definition.
3. 💨 diffusing – helps lock in moisture while minimizing shrinkage (as much as I can, at least lol). using low heat/cool to avoid dryness!
4. 💧 elongating gel on my ends – this step is a game-changer for preventing fairy knots & frizz.

**⚠️ for my high porosity curly babes – skip the steam & seal with an oil or butter post-styling for max moisture retention!

✔ Get an accountability partner
✔ Say it out loud: “I get to wake up and care for me”

♡ mini twists ♡

Y’all…don’t fight me on this, but these are not a “protective” style imo. Low maintenance? Yes. But protective? Hard no.

If you’re thinking about trying #minitwists, here are a few of my tips:

💧Keep your hair moisturized ➔ when you’re styling, start with damp hair and make sure it’s thoroughly moisturized and detangled. This makes a huge difference and helps keep your curls healthy while it’s in the style. I like to refresh my hair every day to reduce breakage and keep the twists popping!

➰The smaller your parts, the fuller the look ➔ I’ve seen people say their mini twists look “boneless” 💀 — this is a way to avoid that! Smaller parts, although tedious, help create a denser, fuller look.

🪞Switch it up ➔ mini twists are so versatile! check out my “HAIR” highlights if you don’t believe me. You already put in the work, so don’t be afraid to experiment with different styles and have fun with it!

For me, these only last about a week before they start locking up 😗 but they’re cute and versatile while they last. Between mini twists and mini braids, mini braids have my heart! They feel more protective for my hair, and I find they help retain moisture a bit longer.
