I fell in love with Farrow & Ball’s Lake Red the moment I saw it.

It feels rich, joyful and full of personality — a beautiful red with just enough pink undertone to keep it fresh and uplifting. It is bold, but not heavy, and the color shifts so beautifully as the natural light moves through the room.

This entire dining room was inspired by Lake Red.

To balance the strength of the color, I brought in warm wood pieces from Arhaus, including the dining table and sideboard. I love how these pieces carry a sense of Old World charm, but with cleaner lines and more refined proportions. They feel classic and collected, yet beautifully modernized rather than formal or dated.

The Arhaus chandelier and gold-framed mirror continue that same feeling. The chandelier adds structure and contrast, while the mirror feels polished and streamlined, bringing a fresher edge to the room.

The Serena & Lily rug and buffet lamps soften the space with a lighter, more relaxed elegance. Serena & Lily always does modernized classic so beautifully, with that subtle coastal chic influence that keeps everything feeling airy and effortless.

Getting the living room ready for the fall and winter gathering season with richer color, texture, and a more collected, inviting feel. 🍂

The star of this space is the Arhaus Cortland Sofa in Quincy Burgundy, one of my favorites from the new Fall Collection. I love its streamlined curved silhouette—it feels classic and timeless, while the deep burgundy brings exactly the warmth and depth I want this time of year. Crafted by Arhaus upholstery artisans in North Carolina, it also has that substantial, beautifully made quality that makes a statement without feeling overly formal.

I paired it with two Arhaus Elias Chairs. To me, the shape has a subtle mid-century modern influence, especially with the sculptural wood frame, while still feeling timeless enough to work with a more traditional sofa. I also love the rich patterned upholstery against the solid burgundy—it gives the room another layer without competing with the sofa.

And the rug really completes the palette: the Lulu and Georgia Chiltern Handmade Rug by Jake Arnold in this rich rust tone. Its tonal variation and soft sheen add so much depth underfoot, while the earthy color ties together the burgundy, dark wood, marble, and brass throughout the room.
