Vegas hotel makeup 💄✨ Getting ready in the desert climate means my makeup routine has to focus on hydration, skin protection, and longevity!

💦 Stay hydrated! Between traveling, the dry Vegas air, and being out all day, I’m making sure I’m drinking plenty of water and giving my skin the hydration it needs.

Vegas has a VERY different climate than Houston, so I had to make sure my makeup could handle the super dry desert air! 🌵✨

Even with mature skin, you can STILL use powder in a dry climate—you just have to be intentional with how and where you apply it. I focused on lightly setting the areas that needed it while keeping the rest of my skin hydrated and fresh. 🤍

The DIBS Beauty Duo Double-Ended Brush was perfect for this look! I love having two brushes in one, and it made applying and blending everything so easy without overloading my skin with product.

And my Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray was a MUST. It helped lock everything in while keeping my mature skin looking hydrated and preventing that overly dry, cakey look that can happen in the desert climate. ✨

Now that Labor Day is behind us and we’re officially in the “BER” months, it’s time to start warming up the makeup a bit! 🍂🤎
Today I pulled out a palette I haven’t used in a hot minute — the Master Mattes Palette by Makeup by Mario — and I had forgotten just how much I LOVE it! The shades are gorgeous, you get so many beautiful mattes to work with, and the formula is absolutely stellar…especially on mature eyes.
I’m also such a fan of the L’Oréal Infallible Cushion Foundation! Ladies, this one is SO affordable and absolutely beautiful on mature skin. My one complaint? I’m not a fan of the sponge applicator that comes with it. Skip the sponge, grab your favorite foundation brush and blend it in — the finish is gorgeous!
And can we talk about the Make Up For Ever Lip & Cheek?! If you haven’t tried it yet, you are seriously missing out! It’s long-wearing, beautiful on the skin, and I find myself reaching for it over and over again.

Well, when you consider that each shadow comes out to a little over $4 per pan, I think that speaks volumes. But it’s not just about the price—it’s about the quality inside those pans.

TIRED? Try this makeup! ✨💄
Some days we just need our makeup to do a little extra work for us! Today, my goal was simple: look brighter, fresher and more awake.
I focused first on my under eyes using an illuminating eye cream, followed by a peach-toned concealer to help counteract darkness, and finished with an under-eye brightening powder. What a difference!
Then I brought some LIFE back into my face with the new @bkbeauty Skin Perfecting Blush that will be released on 9/1/2026 to give my cheeks a bright pop of blush and I also used the new @DanessaMyricks Glasswork 4d Ultra Shine Lip Gloss to tie it altogether. 💕 Sometimes adding a little color is exactly what tired-looking skin needs!

CONFESSION TIME… 🙋‍♀️💄 I used to be a makeup snob.

Pink + brown makeup with a little Dolly sparkle feels especially fitting. 💗✨
Pink and brown is one of those beautiful color combinations that I think gets overlooked—especially when it comes to makeup!
I often have trouble finding the perfect matte pink eyeshadow, so today I got a little creative. I reached for one of my favorite brands, Ciele Cosmetics, and used their gorgeous blush in Shy as my pink eyeshadow. Yes, ladies—a beautiful blush can absolutely do double duty! 💕
I wanted to keep the browns cool-toned, so I pulled out an oldie-but-goodie palette that never lets me down. Then I married my cheeks to my eyes with that same beautiful pink and finished everything with none other than Dolly Parton lipstick in Rosebud. 💄
Oh, how we will miss Dolly. Her sparkle, humor, authenticity and larger-than-life spirit were truly one of a kind. I’ll leave you with one of her quotes that has always made me smile—and somehow feels even more meaningful today:

Would I have ever posted a picture of myself in a bathing suit before my weight-loss journey? Absolutely not.

Am I still nervous about doing it today? A resounding YES! 😳

So why am I sharing it?

Because at almost 66 years old, I’m finally at a place where I feel confident in my own skin. I genuinely love and appreciate the woman I am today — gray hair, wrinkles, crinkles, saggy skin and all! ❤️

And you know what? This bathing suit makes me feel SEXY and CONFIDENT — and hubby loves it too! 😉🔥

It covers all my bits & pieces exactly where I want coverage, it’s incredibly comfortable, flattering AND very affordable. Honestly, I’m thinking about grabbing another color and saving it for next year!
