Apparently painting the office brown was all it took to give the whole room a personality. I’ve been wanting to play with a home office that feels a little different from some of the others I’ve designed, and this warmer, more collected direction was such a fun one. The brown walls set the tone, but I didn’t want everything else in the room to fall into the same warm neutral palette. That soft denim blue was exactly what it needed. I repeated it just a few times—in the chair, rug, pottery and books—so it feels connected without making blue a major part of the room. I also mixed some more traditional details with cleaner pieces rather than committing to one specific style. The molding, landscape art, vintage-inspired rug and cane chair add character, while the simpler desk and styling keep everything feeling current and approachable. It’s warm, collected, a little unexpected…and proof that brown can be a really beautiful neutral.🤎 I linked the exact and similar pieces from this home office below so you can recreate as much—or as little—of the look as you want.
