Stop picking the dress first. It doesn’t help coordinate the whole family. Start with this instead 👇 Here’s the mistake almost everyone makes: you find one outfit you love (usually mom’s dress), buy it, and then try to build everyone else’s outfits around it. By the time you get to the kids and dad, nothing quite works, the colors fight each other, and you end up with a cart full of returns and a family that looks thrown together instead of pulled together. The fix is to flip the order. Start with a color palette, not a single piece. Choose 4-5 colors that work together (some of those are neutral), that suit your family, and that fit the location and your photographer’s editing style. THEN shop within that palette for each person. When you start with the palette instead of the dress, everything coordinates without being matchy. Everyone looks like they belong in the same photo. And you stop wasting money on pieces that don’t end up working. It’s one small change in order, and it makes all the difference. Want help getting your palette right?
