I’m a freelance journalist and content creator, which means some days I’m home editing videos, writing articles, pitching brands… and other days I’m back in a newsroom racing a 5pm deadline.

This was one of those newsroom days.

Shooting interviews solo.
Eating in the car between locations.
Writing every word.
Recording my voiceover.
Editing the whole story myself.

And somehow it all turns into one smooth little piece on TV like it was easy.

It’s a weird, beautiful in-between season of life — part freelancer, part newsroom, full storyteller… still figuring it out in real time 🥹.

I hadn’t been to Senegal in over 10 years and the only thing I could think about having again was dibi.

I was first introduced to this wonderful food when I first touched down when I made the life-changing decision to study abroad here while I was in college. Usually grilled lamb over charcoal at street-side dibiteries, eating dibi with family and friends is a best feeling.

On my first trip back in over a decade, I found myself craving it — not just for the taste, but for the memories tied to it from when I studied abroad here. (That’s another story for another day LOL.)

I almost didn’t get to have it but thankful I was finally able to make it happen.

If Senegal’s on your travel list, this is one experience worth seeking out.

I didn’t expect an ATV to become my main way of exploring Curaçao… but somehow it turned into one of my favorite days on the island.

From riding alongside cars (slightly terrifying 😅), to fresh coconut on the roadside, a quiet beach break, and learning more about Curaçao’s Afro-Portuguese roots, experiencing the island in motion was simply AMAZING.
