I was afraid to start decorating this tree. I wasn’t sure exactly how it was going to turn out. Sometimes I hesitate to start when what I really need to do is just start. I had drawn some inspiration from a designer I had found right here on Instagram. She was using the middle of the tree as a focal point and I loved how it was telling a story. I knew I was using my large owl in the center of the tree and then decided to use the ribbon as a frame around my main subject. I loved this effect. The ribbon became part of the story. Once I started putting this tree and story together, it just started coming to me. My final step was to add the nests under the owls. When I got the tree together, I thought it needed something to draw the eye to the owls. I came up with the nests that I made out of grapevine wreath and moss. This added just the pop of green that was needed to draw the eye my subjects. I even built a nest for an owl and attached it to a branch at the top of the tree. The name Owl Be Home For Christmas didn’t come to me until it was almost completed. I am always searching for inspiration that helps me put together something different and unique. This turned out the be one of my most unique creations and I loved this Christmas tree.
