Fireplace Reveal The fireplace in my 1865 Victorian living room was a retrofit from the 1960s that was crumbling under our feet. The subfloor was cracked, the chimney column was damaged, the tiles were disintegrating, and the mantel was missing quite a few parts. Time for a DIY fireplace makeover! Over the past few weeks, I demoed the old fireplace, fixed the subfloor, retiled the hearth (this was a JOURNEY…iykyk), and customized a new mantel to much better fit my living room vibes! This DIY project turned out to be a favorite of mine, and I still have a hard time believing that I did it all myself! Eventually, we’ll have a contractor run wiring for a new electric insert, but for now, I’m tickled with how she turned out! LTKHome
