Rosemary oil: - [ ] Natural antioxidant - [ ] Anti-inflammatory properties that can mitigate scalp irritation and infections such as dandruff which further promotes hair growth - [ ] Increases blood supply to hair follicles = increased nutrients delivered to the scalp and prevention of hair loss due to lack of blood supply - [ ] Studies showing increased efficacy in hair growth among Rosemary oil groups compared to those of minoxidil (Rogaine) groups at 6 month measures. Castor oil also had many amazing properties with moisturizing and nourishing but is not as scientifically credited as rosemary oil in relation to supporting hair growth. With lack of literature relating to any topic in health care, I always weight the risk vs benefit ratio. Example: limited evidence supporting use of castor oil for hair health. Proposed benefits: increased hair strength and shine, improve scalp health, increase moisture. Risks: allergic reaction, hair matting from oil thickness, clogged scalp pores Risk profile = LOW. I will try castor oil and ensure to not apply to much to mat my hair 🤪 Preventing hair loss is vital, once the hair thinning starts, it’s harder to grow back.
