Q: Can you measure the airflow of a blow dryer?
A: Oh, absolutely! 💨
I grabbed my trusty anemometer to check the MPH of my blow dryer, with and without the concentrator nozzle. And the results?
Cue the drum roll 🥁—turns out, you actually get more airflow without the concentrator than with it!
I know, right? It’s a huge misconception! Everyone thinks the concentrator boosts airflow, but this little hair science experiment just blew that myth out of the water. 👩🏼‍🔬
You’re probably wondering, “Do I really need that blow dryer concentrator nozzle?” Uh, yes, you do! That little attachment is a hair hack for laying your hair cuticle flat, giving you a shiny, frizz-free, and oh-so-smooth blowout. 😉

Ever catch yourself moving the blow dryer closer to your head or brush, thinking you're getting that extra heat boost? Guilty! 😏

But you know I had to get all science-y and see what’s really going on. So, I grabbed an infrared thermometer and did a little hair science experiment.👩🏼‍🔬

I’ll admit, I never really knew what the ACTUAL temperature a blow dryer was, but seeing here, I’ll definitely be more careful to not put the blow dryer so close to my roots consecutively.

That’s why I recommend using thermal protection on your hair before blow drying. It’s a non-negotiable for healthy hair. 🫶🏻
