I’ve been seeing this Target jacket floating around on a few influencers and finally decided to try it for myself.
For reference: I’m 6’3” with a 36” inseam, usually a medium in tops, but I sized up to a large here. I knew the body length would read cropped on me (totally fine), but I had a hunch the sleeve length would work — especially since most of the other girls I saw were kind of swimming in theirs.
Oversized on a regular-size girly = just right on me 😅
I’ll be honest, I was a little put off by the price at first, but the reviews were really positive and… they were right. The quality feels noticeably better than some of the Target pieces I’ve grabbed lately, and this chocolate brown color sold me immediately.

👗 What I Wore:
I wore these blue striped wide-leg jeans from GAP — I grabbed them in the spring and the color is so vibrant. They’re surprisingly versatile for year-round wear, and the length is perfect on me.
I paired them with an oversized navy cotton cable-knit sweater from GAP and kept everything monochromatic, which always makes an outfit look instantly more intentional.
For fun, I added my embroidered mermaid socks from Sock Candy. You can’t fully see the detail in photos, but they match the blue in the pants perfectly — a tiny matchy-match moment. Sock Candy also offers extended sizing up to a women’s 13, which I appreciate because one-size socks never fit if you have bigger feet. These are great quality.
Shoes: my bass Mary Jane loafers in a rich brown, just to break up all the blue. A bright red suede Mary Jane would’ve been really cute here too with the texture mix.

• LOFT wide-leg trousers — they have a denim look but a velvet athletic racing stripe down the side. The texture mix makes them feel more elevated than standard trousers.
• Darn Tough socks — my all-time favorite socks for hiking, workouts, or casual wear. They offer select pairs up to a women’s 14/15 and the quality is unmatched. These truly are life-changing socks.

• Apres June oversized cashmere polo — I hesitated the first time they released this (not tall-specific + the price), but I’ve thought about it ever since. Now there are new colors… probably a sign to go for it.
• Old Navy cotton sweater — I love when retailers offer 100% cotton knits. They actually hold up. Anything blended with acrylic/nylon/polyester is going to look dingy in a year. Cotton will last season after season.

👗 What I Wore:
I wore my matching Sky Dolls sweatshirt + wide-leg sweatpants set in the cranberry color. I already own this set in another shade and practically live in it, so the second I saw this color drop… add to cart → checkout → done.
I sized up to a large tall in both pieces. I could’ve done a medium tall in the pants since they fit oversized, but I wanted that loose, roomy fit in the sweatshirt.
The fabric is super soft, fleece-lined, and has a hint of stretch. And the best part: the pants have a toggle at the hem so you can cinch them up if they’re running long — keeps them from dragging and ruining the hem. Love that for us.
🛍️ What I Purchased:
• Free People Quilted Carryall — I bought mine about three years ago and it has survived everything. They keep releasing new colors, and now there’s a printed version… I’m trying to justify another because my original has held up so well. It’s huge, washes surprisingly well, and the construction is solid.
• Lands’ End Maxi Duffle Coat — I already own one and needed a second. It’s one of those winter coats you end up living in because it’s warm, durable, and tall-friendly in length. Such a staple for my winters.

Today’s outfit leans very “cabin-meets-office” in the best way. I wore my GAP cotton cable crewneck sweater in cream and paired it with the cream wide-leg track pants from Athleta.
They’re technically athletic pants, but the front seam detail + the subtle satin stripe down the side give them a dress-pant look. With the snow and ice we’ve had, I finished everything with my Cole Haan leather boots.
The monochromatic cream kept the outfit elevated, while the oversized sweater + wide-leg pants combo kept me warm and comfortable all day.
🛍️ What I Purchased:

The Forever Fleece quarter zip is definitely tall-friendly even without going for the tall sizing. Great body length, great sleeve length. I’ve got a large in my cart because I want that slightly oversized look.
The Forever Fleece wide-leg pants run very oversized, at least in the waist. I had a medium in my cart originally, but the medium on the hanger honestly looked like an XL. I’m switching to a small because I still want them relaxed but not falling off.

Timberland extended their Cyber Monday sale and I had to share.
They’re doing that thing where the price drops again once you add it to your cart — some styles end up around 50% off even if they were already marked down.
I’ve been loving the Stone Street line… kind of retro, kind of chunky, all super comfortable. The boat shoes and the booties are my favorite — great lug soles, great platform, and actually built well. Also: most of their women’s shoes go up to size 11 and 12, which we love.

Today’s look is a mix of structure and comfort — very fall, very me.
I pulled out the Izzy barrel pants from Anthropologie. I grabbed these over the summer, but because they’re a heavyweight cotton and the mustard tone leans warm, they transition perfectly into fall.
Paired them with the denim button-down, tie-neck blouse from GAP. I can’t stop wearing this since the day it arrived. It’s a heavier denim (so good for fall), has a subtle western nod that’s trending right now, and the tie neck detail makes it feel a little more elevated and work-appropriate.
Finished everything with my Coach leather platform clogs — 90s nostalgia in the best way. The slightly worn toe, the true clog silhouette… they’re insanely comfortable. I’m fully in my clog era.
🛍️ What I Purchased:
• Sky Dolls sweatsuit — I’ve had my eye on this set for forever but could never land the right size/color combo before it sold out. Found one on Poshmark randomly and immediately grabbed it.
The fabric is super soft with a bit of stretch. I like to toss mine in the dryer on low heat for about 20 minutes when they’re wet — if I fully air-dry them they get a little “crunchy.”
The pants fit true to size. The sweatshirt fits small for a large – I wanted oversized, and the large fits more like a regular large on me.

Unexpected Tall Girl Finds: Cozy Sweater + Plaid Wide-Leg Pants

Random OOTD share—found this super cute sweater at Tractor Supply of all places! 😳 I sized up to an XL for that slightly oversized, cozy fit. It does have a bit of a cropped length, so I loved the relaxed vibe.
I paired it with these plaid wide-leg trousers from Gap and my trusty brown Gazelle Adidas. I even had some fun pink plaid socks on, but you can’t really see them here 😂. Totally casual office vibe… maybe a bit too casual with the tennis shoes. Could’ve dressed it up with a button-down underneath and some boots or loafers, but honestly, I was not in the mood—and no one was at work anyway.

I wore these GAP flare corduroy pants — a pair I bought last year and still reach for constantly. GAP pants have been my go-to lately; lengthwise, they rarely miss for tall girls.
Paired them with a GAP men’s denim button-down. The embroidered detail along the neckline and cuffs makes it feel special, and the heavier denim is perfect for fall. I layered on a GAP men’s plaid shacket for extra warmth.
Finished with leather square-toe loafers that have an adorable little bow on the toe — the feminine touch I needed before the outfit went full “70s Vermont.” Honestly? I didn’t mind it.

👗 What I Wore:
I wore these GAP brown barrel jeans — these have a cross-waist button detail I wasn’t sure about at first, but I actually love it. They’re advertised as high-rise, but where the cross-button sits makes them feel more like a mid-rise… honestly the perfect in-between.
I tried both the long and tall lengths. In today’s look, I’m wearing the long — they hit right at my ankle. The tall length reaches the floor, and because of that it reads more wide-leg than barrel. I didn’t mind either, but the fit is loose. I ordered my usual 28 and a 27, and they fit exactly the same — I even measured the waists and they were identical. GAP, I love you for the lengths but… make it make sense.

It was leaning a little casual for work, so I added brown suede square-toe Mary Janes from Cole Haan. The monochromatic brown-on-brown helps elevate it. If it’s still too casual for you, you could swap the sweatshirt for a button-down or sweater.
🛍️ What I Purchased:
• Dearfoams embroidered-bow slippers — Not as soft as the Target pair I tried, but the bows are adorable and very “holiday.”
• J.Crew bow-embroidered jeans — I ordered my usual size first and they were way too loose, so I sized down. The waist fits well now, but the length hits in a strange spot — not cropped, not full-length. If these hit at the ankle, they’d be perfect. I’m debating hemming them. TBD.

• More winter gear now that December is coming.
• A men’s fleece ski jacket from Target — total Free People vibes. They only had an XL in store; loved the oversized look but it was too sloppy. Might wait for a sale and grab a large.
• Eddie Bauer winter coats — they fit tall frames and they’re warm. Living in the Northeast, can you ever have too many winter coats?

I wore this pine green silk button-down from American Tall. Even though it’s polyester, it feels like heavyweight silk. The construction is excellent, and the oversized fit is everything — I grabbed a small extra tall and it’s beautifully loose while still hitting great length-wise.
Paired it with the green corduroy Izzy barrel jeans from Anthropologie. Love the little varsity stripe down the side — monochromatic green really elevates the look. Finished with square-toe leather ballet flats from Cole Haan. The ankle-wrap detail and classic brown/black combo make them go with just about anything.
🛍️ What I Purchased:
• Anthropologie wide-leg tweed-texture jeans — super unique, work for office, holiday, or casual wear. They fit loose despite zero stretch. If you’re in between sizes, size down.
• Homage sweatshirts & T-shirts — one of my favorite retailers for soft, tall-friendly basics. I grabbed a few for me and some zip-up hoodies for my boyfriend. Quality holds up for years.

I wore light wash AGOLDE barrel jeans — I wasn’t sure about light wash in winter, but paired with Coach leather clogs and an oversized varsity-striped plaid polo from GAP, it felt very 90s. Oversized, casual, comfortable… and honestly, I loved it. Not everyone’s style, but that’s the fun — and if you want to switch it up, I’ve seen a similar look on Revolve with heels instead of clogs. You do you.
🛍️ What I Purchased:
• Athleta Endless Pants in pine green — on sale and basically my favorite pants. Pine green for winter? Yes, please.
• Sneakers — grabbed more retro vibes. Pacific Nike sneakers (all leather, soft pink) and black-and-white Adidas Sambas (Samba Excel blend, like a skate-shoe-meets-Samba hybrid). Both very wearable and comfortable.
🛒 What’s in My Cart:
• Gap cropped denim trench — been eyeing forever. Cropped oversized fit, elevated with buttons + collar. Hoping for a holiday sale.
• Ballet flats with studded detail — loving this trend everywhere (jackets, jeans, shoes). On a classic Mary Jane or ballet flat, the studs really pop and elevate the outfit.
