I get asked all the time how to make a bed look cozy and designer level comfortable and the answer is always layers.

It starts with quality sheets then a good quilt or duvet with the right amount of fluff. From there I love adding extra quilts or blankets at the end of the bed for texture and warmth.

The finishing touch is pillows and throws. Think of them as the cherry on top because they are what make a bed feel styled inviting and lived in instead of flat or stiff.

Who says food storage has to be boring? I’ve been slowly swapping our plastic containers for glass, and this set has been such an easy upgrade. With the winter storm here, I’m extra grateful we installed a wood-burning fireplace. We use it constantly all winter long.

One of the smartest choices we made was adding a gas starter wand. It makes lighting a fire so much easier (and yes… sometimes it takes off faster than expected 😅). If you didn’t incorporate one in your build, fatwood fire starters are a great option too.
