Not totally true! I love a good AHA, BHA, or PHA, but do you need them? Not really. Retinoids already help with cell turnover and can give similar results.

Adding a gentle exfoliator can speed things up, but overdoing it can actually hurt your skin barrier. I usually exfoliate about once a week and stick with gentle ones—your skin doesn’t need every type or daily use to stay healthy and glowing.

Skincare Myth #1: The stronger the actives, the better.
Not true! While tretinoin is the gold standard for anti-aging, I can’t use it consistently ,my skin gets irritated and red every time.
I actually prefer lower concentrations of retinol or retinal. I can use them daily, and that consistency gives me the best results! 💫

My secret to maintaining a healthy skin barrier is… skin barrier creams/balms!

Here are my current top 3:
1. @LaRochePosayUS Cicaplast Baume
This is my all-time favorite skin barrier balm because it works amazingly! What I love is that it’s an OTC product that helps with all types of irritation. It has a thicker consistency, so I only use it at night.
2. @AveneUSA Cicalfate+ Restorative Protective Cream
This cream has a thick texture that works really well for sensitive skin—even for babies! I love using it when I have eczema. It contains C-Restore and Copper-Zinc Sulfate Complex, which are incredibly soothing and restorative.
3. @rhode skin Barrier Butter
This is a new addition to their line, and I’m loving it! It contains hyaluronic acid, ceramides, polyglutamic acid, and Murumuru Butter. What I like about this product is how rich it feels while still applying smoothly like a moisturizer. It traps water, making it excellent for hydration. I use it both day and night for my dry skin without it feeling too heavy.

Haruharu Wonder - Black Rice Probiotics Barrier Essence contains black rice and probiotics. It’s a thick, milky toner that provides extreme hydration! For my dry skin, I absolutely love this toner, but it might be too rich for oily skin.
