A lot of denim brands are having their spring sales now! Here are my wide-leg jean picks with natural distressing and proper drape across price points. The Gap Stride Wide are TTS - my usual 26. My Gap Mid Rise UltraSoft Baggy Jeans are size 25 0R - I sized down, but they’re still wide enough imo. My AYR jeans are The Secret Sauce in Hero Baby, size 26R. I had them hemmed so I can wear them with flats. I’m 5’7”.

My COS picks that give luxury - most tailored pants except the Relaxed Linen-Blend Wide-Leg Pants. Pants are cut close and not curvy, so I recommend sizing up. Most pants have adjustable internal bands so you can cinch the waist and look polished. The knits are superb, and most button ups are outstanding – just stay away from the Longline Linen Shirt and this fabric: 50% linen, 47% rayon, 3% spandex. Their tees are my favorite - they start out perfect and keep their shape after dozens of washes (gentle cycle, air dry).

My straw bag picks that deliver luxury craftsmanship without the markup, from niche brands to the best of the headliners. Helen Kaminski specializes in raffia – impeccable weave + refined leather straps at half the price of The Row. Pamela Munson nails Khaite’s east-west silhouette. Tuckernuck's bamboo details riff on Loro Piana without copying. Always check trim composition – some $500+ bags use faux leather when the real version costs just $60 more.

White shirts that nail the CBK details: roomier cuts with sculptural collars that stand on their own, sleeves that stop at the wrist bone. My Sézane spring picks – the suede coat in goat suede with viscose lining outperforms similar jackets at twice the price. Skip the loafers (blobby toe), grab the Josepha sandals, Milano knit cardigans, embroidered blouses, and hand-woven raffia bags. Skip the classic button ups - they're average at best, and too often, the stripes don't align.

Embroidered, ruched, and embellished, these Sézane blouses stand out. They're equivalent to tops that cost three times as much, and you can see how the Madewell blouse just does not measure up. I love layering them under my denim shirts, blazers, or chunky cardigans. They're also great with jeans - of course. I just wash in the gentle cycle, then steam them right out of the wash. I don't iron or anything else. Easy. They're fitted. I go with size 4, and I'm 2-4 typically.

The simple packing mistake that ruins your clothes before you even arrive: folding in half ✈️I use the wrap method - long items like pants and maxi skirts go in first, flat, so the full width is on the long side. Everything else packs in the center, then the long layers wrap around for soft corners, no hard creases. ✈️ A few more things I swear by: light-colored packing cubes are easier to spot in a dark suitcase. Ponte is a knit construction, so it doesn't wrinkle like woven fabrics do. I love COS pieces I've gotten over the years, especially a super soft leather bag. This bowler looks like the same leather - satiny and supple, it reflects light beautifully.
