One of my favorite splurges at our cabin in Oregon is our espresso machine from
Breville. I love a cappuccino in the afternoon while curling up with a good book. There isn’t really a coffee shop nearby as it’s in the woods quite literally. My new favorite dress from @cupshe this dress is very drapey and flattering. It has this cute tie in the front and it’s in a great color- even though I can’t say I usually wear much green. Always love a one shoulder look. I feel like it elevates the look and as a woman over 40 it’s a way to show some skin that doesn’t feel over the top. Especially with looser fits these days I like to pair looser for shorts with something that shows a little skin. A shoulder is a safe bet for most body types.

Looking forward to summer barbecues at the cabin in June. This large tables seats a crowd and isn’t too precious. The chairs are indoor/outdoor and the dining room opens up to the deck so the chairs can be moved around as needed. The wingback chairs can be moved over to the stove in the winter when you want to cozy up with a good book. The point here is flexibility with furniture and seating.

Target workout set that I’ve had on repeat for a year! These ribbed pants are a bit thicker than regular workout pants.

When we travel, we like to get up and explore a bit and get our steps in, then sit by the pool in the afternoon. This past week we explored the cactus gardens at the Sunnyvale estate in Palm Desert. 🌵

In our bathroom renovations, we used consoles instead of buying a traditional bathroom vanity. The consoles were less expensive than a vanity, but then you have your put the plumbing into the wall, and purchase vessel sinks, and a countertop (if you want one) so it might not really save you money overall. I mostly wanted the modern look of the wall mounted faucets. These faucets are from Amazon, and are a high end look for less.

Let’s bring up a controversial issue- open shelving! Do you love it or hate it? I love mine but I have a few things that make it work- I have enough storage in my kitchen that I can keep it to decorative items. Plastic stuff and kids water bottles are stored below in cupboards. I have a housekeeper that dusts once a month because honestly, I’m not going to dust all these items regularly. Here are some of my favorite decorative kitchen items.

How to disguise a TV- we don’t have a separate family room/living room and so I “hid” our TV in plain sight with a darker wallpaper wall behind it. The portrait print and plants catch your eye and the TV recedes.
