Sitting here in Corfu, with the soft sea breeze and layers of history all around, everything feels a little slower… in the best way. This island is such a beautiful blend of Venetian, French, and British influence. You’ll see it in the pastel buildings, the winding alleyways, even in the rhythm of daily life.

Just behind me is the iconic Old Fortress of Corfu, standing strong since the 15th century. Corfu was never conquered by the Ottomans—so it feels completely different from other Greek islands, almost like a little slice of Italy tucked into Greece 🇬🇷

A few things that make Corfu extra special ✨
– The old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, full of hidden alleys (called kantounia) that feel like a maze you want to get lost in
– It’s one of the greenest Greek islands, covered in olive trees—some over 300 years old 🌿

One of the tallest wooden railway trestles in the world, Kinsol Trestle stretches over the Koksilah River on Vancouver Island, just outside Shawnigan Lake. It’s part of the Trans Canada Trail and offers an easy, accessible walk with sweeping views of the forest and river below.

This winter, snow barely arrived—proof that even familiar seasons can surprise us. Expectations for perfect conditions or picture-perfect moments don’t always match reality. Goals give us direction, but rigid expectations can blind us to what’s right in front of us.
