I’m celebrating my 40th birthday today 🥂🎉 and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than by giving back to this sweet community. My 30s were full in the best ways—getting engaged, married, traveling to Moldova, South Africa, & the UK, welcoming our two beautiful babies, and starting my own business. all of that said….. after waking up one morning in so much pain (literally crying) and had a major migraine all day, i bought this pillow from target and had it delivered same day. i went with the premier so it’s closest to a down alternative but also has memory foam inside. it comes with extra “fluff” if you to adjust to your preference! i am back to getting amazing sleep again and now i want to cry for joy (rather than cry for pain 😂)

Starting a little Valentine tradition over here 💌 I found these felt Valentine mailboxes for each of the kids (pink for my girl, red for my boy!) and hung them right on their bedroom doors with decorative Command hooks. Planning to sneak in lots of little valentines over the next few weeks—notes filled with love, encouragement, and sweet reminders of how loved they are. Such a simple way to make February feel extra special 🥰✨

i had a hard day yesterday. a bad attitude around every corner kind of day. i took a nap after church and the bad attitude persisted even after i woke up. i went out to do some holiday shopping and thought it cleared away, and it returned as soon as I crossed the threshold and entered the door.

but i refuse to let a bad attitude remain during this season. whether it’s hormonal, or just plain sin, i’m determined to set into practice a way to slow my mind and center my heart. i’m determined to set the mood in our home and for my kids. one of thankfulness and joy… one of kindness and love.

i love the season of advent. the anticipation. the centering of my mind and my heart. this year i’m gifting the kids some fun advent calendars so they can also feel that little bit of joy and anticipation each morning… but i’m also making sure we focus as a family (and my husband and I as individuals). I learned the hard way a few years ago to always order our advent studies as early as they are released, so this year we are prepared with the family bundle of advent devotionals from @thedailygraceco - and then I was also gifted a copy of the advent study for this year from @shereadstruth - perhaps the Lord knew that I was going to need some extra help centering my heart and mind this season. 😌

my other best friend - just elevated. 😅 i’ve been going through lots of tissues. this is the box cover that i got for my office bookshelf. it has a magnetic bottom which is awesome so that i can easily pick up the entire box. comes in lots of colors. i have the beige linen (it has rose gold trim)

It’s become family tradition that after we decorate the Christmas tree, the kids get new Christmas pajamas for the season (I usually size up so they can wear them for 2 seasons), and a new Christmas book. This year I also added in some Yoto card audiobooks.
