Those pants cut off blood flow to my brain for a little bit, so today will be short. I’m also in a very bad mood this week and it’s hard to be funny when that happens. When I’m grumpy I can laugh at myself, but it’s harder to write jokes suitable for the ‘gram because I go to a very dark place. (Joke wise…life-wise, I’m fine you guys.) I’m just pointing out my humor is always dark, but I don’t write those jokes here.

THANK GOD IT’S CHRISTMAS. It’s a song by Queen. If you didn’t participate on Tuesday, and let’s be honest, most of you didn’t, then you don’t know the answer to the number of songs referenced in the previous post. None of you seem overly concerned, but I’m answering regardless.

She and my mammal hoe will meet next week when I get my Spray Tan on with her. If you’re as pale as I am, she’s the go-to girl for a natural, safe glow. My paleness is blinding and borders on Casper-esqe translucence, but she keeps me from scaring the daylights out of people.

ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST. It’s not just a rocking Queen song when you’re standing in front of @eljefe.texmex on #TacoTuesday, it is a meal motto. However, this is not my current reality.

If this were my reality and I was prepping to house margs and queso, I certainly couldn’t do it in these pants by @thejetsetdiaries from @renttherunway. THEY. HAVE. NO. CHILL. And by no chill, I mean no stretch so if you’re a #FatBottomedGirl you gotta size up.

I rented these since my fav #DVF culottes have yet to make another appearance on the “available to rent” list and I had a specific bright combo in mind. This was a result of me watching Bohemian Rhapsody about 18 too many times. I believe Freddie Mercury is one of the most underrated style icons of his time so when I get dressed and I have crazy pieces from #RenttheRunway I legit google his best ensembles for #OOTDinspo.

On this poor pull, even the ghost of his creative genius couldn’t save me from me. I read the size charts but forgot #ThickThighsSaveLives and also forgot my love of queso manifests its side effects in that area of my body, and as such, I cannot size down in pants that don’t have stretch in the bum region.

The workout it took to pull these over my cheeks and hips was equal to the work I put in at @1780fitness today AND once they were up some parts didn’t sit correctly. Aka my lady business looked like something that rhymes with the phrase mammal hoe. This, to be honest, is what people could rightfully assume I was if I always wore pants that tight in the baby shooter region. 😝

Moral of the story is don’t stop me now because when I’m under pressure it takes a kind of magic to pull on poorly sized borrowed bottoms. Now the first person to correctly comment and tell me how many Queen songs I referenced in this caption gets a hug from me and my mammal hoe. 😜

THEY SEE ME ROLLING. 🚲 But no one is hating because it is a stranger’s bike and they had better things to do than worry about the tall lady in short shorts in 60-degree weather with a sequin bag and sneakers. It was on Friday at 6 pm. They were wholly unphased by my weirdness and more worried about arriving at Happy Hour on time. 🍸

But let’s unpack the bag on this bike, shall we? Why is it as cool as my mini sequin bag? I didn’t need this little sparkly thing to hold my keys when whatever genius that rides this bike has installed what I only assume is a lunch box. It may not be a lunch bag, but it reminds me of a middle school lunch bag. AND let’s be honest…that is the bag I’d want permanently installed in place of a reckless, open-air basket. 🧺

This riff is not just for a fun story, I spent a solid half-hour thinking that if I broke down and finally bought a bike instead of just spinning on stationary ones at gyms, that I’d want a cooler lunch bag rigged up in place of the basket.

I decided to shoot this cute short suit because I’ve worn it a lot within the span of a week. Which is not something I typically do. Poor @saltykatcreative has been forced to stare at this short suit and its shenanigans far more times then she’d like.

I also shot this because I got a lot of DM’s about it. This is a sarcastic joke I typically make implying no one actually gives two rips about it, but this time it’s different. Lots of ladies wanted to know about this suit. It’s by @cinqasept, borrowed from @renttherunway.

To keep you on your toes, I’ll share more details instead of just talking #SMACK in this caption. Why? Because this suit is perfect for a unique rental, but it is an odd fit. I shout about reading size charts, but every now and then you just need to know your shape and what works.

Based on reviews I sized up one size in the shorts but wished I had gone up two sizes. I DESPISE shorts being tight, and these were slightly tighter than I felt comfortable wearing. I push boundaries, so I wore them anyway and pranced my buttcheeks into several rooms with enough confidence to distract people from the screaming seams.

Now onto the jacket! It’s gorgeous. You could wear this to work with denim or a sheath dress for a work appropriate pop of style and color, not just pair it with the shorts, but size down! I sized down two sizes based on reviews.

For reference, in this photo, I’m wearing a size 2 jacket and size 6 shorts but wished I was wearing a size 8 shorts and the size 2 jacket. It seems crazy, but I’m crazy so it fits.

HOW SHORT IS TOO SHORT? This has been a question in my mind every time I look in my closet lately. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I occasionally forget about my height, but I believe it’s because I am a hitting a new number on the age bracket this year where I can no longer round down (math rules, y’all), rarely do I get carded, and I am dramatically fighting becoming an outwardly old, wrinkled bittie. 👵

I spend a lot of time trying to get on that #JLo aging game. Internally, I feel 76 thanks to my weird digestive issues that have crept up, but I hope people look at my beanstalk legs and think I am 25. 😜

Like the Queen of Reverse again is known to do, I also have been attempting to stay on my gym A-game. Unfortunately, my chicken arms never reflect that work, so I opt to distract you with my legs. Do they fool you into thinking I’m 25? 🤔

If not, don’t dare comment! Or if you do it better be a clever, funny AF backhanded compliment of comment to make me laugh. Anyone who openly knows about my recent bout of laziness due to my crazy schedule, don’t comment about my current gym routine either. It’s called balance.

I keep my options varied by using #ClassPass. Aka, I hit up several gyms. For me, @ClassPass is the rental version of gyms. With the app, I’ve been able to find some amazing workouts and people to exercise with when I’m not traveling. (And great ones when I’m on the road!)

I’m riffing with a friend at the bar after a day of show prep and this marvelous bartender at #BurritoGallery just mixes right into our schtick. He’s laughing it up, keeping up with insults, and just being incredible while pouring booze. (The best a man can get, ya know?) And I can’t tell if he finds me entertaining or is just doing it for the tip. (Just for a second, ya know?)

THIS POST IS MY TAKE ON THE DAVID LETTERMAN TOP 10 LIST. Except it’s my top 3 and this will probably only happen once. My top 3? Rented. Red. @Rethreaded.

First up, this rented dress by @alc_ltd from @renttherunway is top 5 rentals of all time. It is the reason you rent. It’s luxury that you love so much you wear it 8 times in 4 weeks and realize it needs to be retired…thus the glory of the rented closet. It was, in essence, the mullet of dresses…if mullets were in style, didn’t remind you of the sorta smelly kid from first grade, and generally not frowned upon. It said business in the front, but party in the back/side. 😆

Second, red is in my top 3 colors. I wear it often. It works year-round. Looks good on most everyone and it is the perfect pop of color, even for those who don’t love a pop of color. It doesn’t hurt that it was my high school color so I may or may not have more red items than one human should own. Red gets bonus points for being the primary color of my fav holiday, Christmas. 🎅🏻

Last, but honestly the most important…if you don’t know about the goodness that is @Rethreaded now is your chance to check them out. I was low-key obsessed with this @alc_ltd dress from @renttherunway when I first saw it, but this was one rental where I really dropped the ball. I forgot to read the size charts. I also forgot that I’m 9 ft. tall. #DramaQueen So in essence, the dress fit, but in reality, my vajeen has seen more coverage. 😆

I still took pics in it because I like to show you the good and bad side of renting. In this instance, it’s do as I say, not as I do. I ended up wearing this for a shoot and letting a few other ladies rock it for runway shows and displays.

Now for who wore it better? I won’t even ask you to vote because you can swipe and easily see my girl Alex of @JaxMarketPlace absolutely wore it better. Thanks to this glitzy photo from @girlinjax you can easily see Alex’s gorgeous style and my insane height. 😹 She should have sized down, but since I selfishly forced her into my size, she made it work. Tim Gunn style.

The third competitor in Who Wore it Best: Borrowed Edition is Mary Beth the mannequin. What she lacks in conversational skills she makes up with her ability to roll with the flow. (Get it? She has wheels for feet.) 😂 🥁

This was also the dress that taught me @saltykatcreative knows best. I envisioned it in a different locale but when that went awry, she called an audible that came out arguably a million times better than the original. Because of her creativity, I was able to use this for my @swsjacksonville show poster since it a “Closet in the Cloud.” ⛅️

Moral of this story on my manic, moody Monday. Read size charts and get you a squad that will support your crazy,creative ideas, and will do so in ill-fitting clothes.

WHY SO SERIOUS? You’d think someone who jokes around as much as I do would look happier in photos but here’s the deal…smiling and laughing causes more wrinkles than keeping my RBF status intact. And if we’re being honest, I was actively concentrating on ensuring I hit a good angle whilst not pushing my muffin top out of the side cut-out of this sweet @alc_ltd dress from @renttherunway. Catching a shot of this at just the wrong angle would give new meaning to my favorite “I look like hell” phrase busted can of biscuits. 😜

Muffins and biscuits be damned though, I still wore the heck out of this dress while I had it. This is up there in my top rotation of rentals. I wore it several times and photographed it several times. That’s a BIG EFFING DEAL to me.

If you came to @SWSJacksonville this weekend, you saw it there too. I finally returned it this week, but we had a moment before it went on to be cleaned and shipped to a new temp closet.

TRUE LIFE: THIS IS NOT THE CLOSEST NICK JONAS AND I HAVE EVER BEEN. Not the bag Nick Jonas, but the actual Nick Jonas. Bag NJ and I are swiftly becoming BFF’s. He’s spent the last three days at my side, carrying my accoutrements, receiving lots of compliments & looking like a real snack.

IRL Nick and I were super close when my concert BFF, Kristen, and I went to Tampa to see the #HappinessBegins @JonasBrothers tour. We got decked out in our best @RenttheRunway ensembles and rolled to that bish VIP style. It was bonkers!

We sat in a velvet rope bar situation (fully stocked BTW) complete with a rotating stage right there with Sansa Stark and everyone’s favorite little brother, Frankie. We didn’t snag these seats because we are that cool, although that would be nice if we had. We purchased them through @LaneOne VIP concert experiences.

This is not a paid ad. We spent a lot of our hard-earned doll hairs to be in those seats; TOTALLY WORTH IT. Why am I telling you this now when this happened two months ago?

For starters I’ve become a raging insomniac and when I can’t sleep, I watch Hallmark on Netflix or videos on my phone. Last night I jammed to a few of the 18 bazillion videos I took that night. Scroll for evidence of how close we were to #JoBros and be prepped…you might pee yourself a little. Secondly, I’m telling you now because we’re about a month away from my boy band turned man musicians performing in #Jax.

If you didn’t get your tickets yet and you need a swanky event to wear this insane @JonathanSimkhai dress, B-stage bar seats are the way to go. BUT do it ASAP bc there are still VIP bar seats up for grabs. You get a better price if you buy an entire table so if you want to buy a table and take me as your plus one to fill the final spot, I volunteer as tribute. I’m selfless that way.
