Okay, let’s talk about what this pantry actually cost because there are really two different numbers here. What I personally spent on this pantry: about $622 + the corbels I still need to separate out, before my military discount. That covered the cabinets, butcher block, melamine shelves, 2x4s and the corbels I bought specifically for this project. But I already had a LOT of what went into this space from other projects. If you were starting from scratch, here’s what the materials I used would cost: 2 30” RTA cabinets: $228 2 24” RTA cabinets: $224 Butcher block: $125 Melamine shelves: $36 Red oak flooring: $64.75 7 corbels: $60 Cedar tongue + groove: $24 Beadboard wallpaper: $35 Paint: $225 Wood knobs: $9.99 Wood pegs: $14.99 2x4s: $9 Caulk: $6 Original trim: $0 because I reused what was already here That puts the materials I can actually price at about $1,062. And that still doesn’t include primer, stain, wood filler, nails or screws because those have been in my stash for years and I genuinely don’t remember what I paid for them. So if you wanted to recreate something similar from scratch, I’d say budget around $1,100+. If you already have leftover paint, flooring, hardware or supplies from other projects, your actual cost could be quite a bit less. And that’s really what I wanted to show with this pantry. It looks custom, but there’s nothing custom ordered in here. It’s basic cabinets, butcher block, melamine shelving, reused materials and me making the most of what I already had.
