So please stop comparing yourself to people who don’t even exist in real life. We all show our best angles, that’s normal but putting pressure on yourself to look “perfect” in every photo? That’s just exhausting! Instead use that energy for things that actually bring you joy. You deserve more than that.

So here are the real one photos. The tummy rolls. The back rolls. The stretch marks. The lot! Just a mum by the pool, enjoying the sun and loving life. ☀️

True story… and I honestly have to share what it taught me.

Last week I went jean shopping. I picked up my usual size 14 without even thinking. But when I tried them on, they were far too small. Not just “a bit snug.” Actually uncomfortable! Digging in. Restricting. The kind of fit where you’re already planning to avoid sitting down. 🫣

So, slightly reluctantly, I went back and grabbed the 16. I won’t lie - i fully expected to feel defeated walking back into that changing room.

But WOW. The difference it made!!

They fit. Properly. They skimmed instead of squeezed. I could breathe. I could move. And here’s the part that shocked me most…

The bigger size actually made me look slimmer.

I had to share this because that moment genuinely changed how I see myself.

For the longest time, I believed squeezing into the smaller size meant I was “winning.” Like forcing myself into a number somehow proved I was doing something right. But the truth? I wasn’t winning anything. I was just uncomfortable. Self-conscious. Constantly adjusting my jeans, holding my breath, tugging at the waistband, and pretending it was fine.

And the irony? I actually LOVED these jeans - once I tried them in the size that fit.

Here’s the wild part: the bigger size looked better because it FITS my body. No pulling. No cutting in. No awkward lines. Just clothes sitting how they’re meant to.

The number doesn’t matter. The fit does.

So here’s your reminder today:
Release the pressure to shrink yourself.
Wear the size that feels good.
Wear the size that lets you live your life comfortably.
Wear the size that fits YOU.

Because confidence, not the number on a label will always be what people notice first.

Ever wondered where each rise should actually sit when buying jeans? Here’s how to tell:
1. Low rise – Sits on your hips, a few inches below your belly button. Very 2000s.
2. Mid rise – Sits just under or right at your belly button. Easy, everyday fit.
3. High rise – Sits at or slightly above your belly button. Smooths and shapes the waist.
4. Super high rise – Sits well above your belly button, near your natural waist. Extra cinched, vintage feel.

Comment JEANS for the jeans I’m wearing here. If you struggle with a lower tummy (like me!), a high rise is usually your best, it sits above the area and gives a smoother, more secure fit without cutting you in half. This is usually my go to! @abercrombie
