I’m in my 50s now, and here’s something wild: I look better than I did in my 30s and 40s.

For years I didn’t even realize how much I’d let myself fade into the background. Skipping the mirror instead of looking in it. Putting everyone else’s needs before my own, every single day.

Turning it around wasn’t one big overhaul. It was small, daily acts of choosing myself — the right fit over the “safe” size, sun rays instead of something to erase, showing up as me instead of hiding.

Don’t do it anymore. Soft white jeans or ecru are an updated look. These are great! We love the stretch but yet the structure of these that don’t show our lumps and bumps. They skim so nicely too. Great for Spring and summer. Wearing size 10 or 30

I’m 54 years old, and according to every chart the doctor hands me, my BMI puts me in the “overweight” category. I wear a size 10. My arms aren’t toned, my stomach isn’t flat, and no, I am not shredded — not even close. I’ve raised three kids and survived breast cancer, and somewhere between all of that, I stopped waiting for my body to look a certain way before I let myself live in it.

Somewhere along the way, the world decided that a low-cut dress is a privilege you earn — with a flatter stomach, a smaller number on the scale, a body that hasn’t been through what mine has been through. That you tuck it away until you’ve “fixed” whatever needs fixing.

I never got that memo. Or maybe I did, and I just decided not to listen.

So today I put on the dress. Not because I’ve arrived at some perfect version of myself, but because I stopped needing to. This body carried babies and fought its way through cancer — it’s earned the right to feel beautiful exactly as it is, low-cut dress and all. 💛

Working on my Mother of the Bride arms with just a pair of 5 lb weights! I do these while sitting on my shower bench and keep it simple with curls, overhead pulls, arm raises, and punches for 2 sets of 30 each. I’ve been pretty consistent with it, and so far I’m really happy with the results!
