Today is the start of National Infertility Awareness week. So many women and men suffer in silence when it comes to infertility, especially with the societal pressures to have kids, especially after marriage. Without access to fertility treatments, we never would have had Dylan. It’s not as easy as “relaxing” or “going on vacation”, or “just keep trying” there are medical reasons why 1 in 6 couples in Canada experience infertility, and 1 in 4 experience miscarriage. (Look at it this way, relaxing won’t cure cancer, or diabetes, or a brain tumour, it also won’t cure infertility. I have recently started a site for women who have had success with fertility treatments (www.infertilitymoms.com) but this doesn’t mean they’re no longer suffering from infertility. Infertility, and miscarriages leave many women with PTSD, and other forms of generalized Anxiety disorder. If anyone has questions about infertility, or needs someone to talk to, please don’t hesitate to reach out. This is a horrible club to be a part of, but has some of the most amazing people I’ve ever met in it. http://liketk.it/3dfz8 liketkit @liketoknow.it
