The Advent Wreath originated in Germany in the Lutheran Church. Today, the wreaths are symbols of a tradition hundreds of years old and still practiced today. Each candle represents the 4 Sundays in December before Christmas Day.

Every Sunday, a candle is lit as families reflect and countdown the weeks until the Christkind comes on Christmas Eve (Heilige Abend - or Holy Night). The wreaths are sold at the famous Christmas Markets by local crafters or you can make them yourself at home.

Since I’m nowhere close to Germany, I always make my own! Here’s a little tutorial at how easy it is to make and decorate your own!

Little spaces DO make a difference. For the overall functionality and the equity of your home. But the greatest impact? Is the feeling you get when you see a spot in your home finished. That cozy, accomplished happiness feeling.

You don’t need a large budget. I used this @closetmaid system I purchased from @loweshomeimprovement and it was an easy build with an even easier install using minimal tools (drill, screwdriver, measuring tape, level.) Not an ad by the way! P.S. you’re seeing this as it will be used! Filled with clothes and all the things the kiddos use. This is a house where kids live. The End.
