The Advent Wreath originated in Germany in the Lutheran Church. Today, the wreaths are symbols of a tradition hundreds of years old and still practiced today. Each candle represents the 4 Sundays in December before Christmas Day. Every Sunday, a candle is lit as families reflect and countdown the weeks until the Christkind comes on Christmas Eve (Heilige Abend - or Holy Night). The wreaths are sold at the famous Christmas Markets by local crafters or you can make them yourself at home. Since I’m nowhere close to Germany, I always make my own! Here’s a little tutorial at how easy it is to make and decorate your own! adventwreath adventcalender germanchristmas christmasdecor traditionalchristmastraditions christmas2024 christmastablescape LTKSeasonal LTKHoliday LTKhome
