š Pumpkins and š¦ bats and š» ghosts, oh my! The BEST way to get festive in your kidās room? BOOKS!! š š§”š¤
Owen is at such a fun age where not only is he beginning to understand the concept of holidays and changing seasons, but can express his excitement about it!
I love seeing that little face light up when we talk about Halloween, but need to be careful about what decorations we put up around the house since he loves to get his hands in everything. Toddlers, am I right?
So Iāve got the perfect solution that better yet, doesnāt require a lot of time or money. Every season/holiday, I channel my inner librarian and display appropriately themed books and a couple educational toys on his wall shelves. He loves it! 99% of these items were gifts, meaning I spent next to nothing, and it takes me all of about 5 minutes to get the books swapped out. Iād call that a win-win!
If your child isnāt that into books, this is also a great way to build excitement around reading at any age. Every kid gets excited about the holidays, and research has shown that tapping into your childās interests can set the stage for engagement in literacy.
