Our home is filled with so many things that are precious to me because they connect me to certain people or places, or represent a facet of my personality.
In this image alone, more than half the items hold a special place in my heart - and it’s impossible for me to pick a favorite!
-top shelf, left: Dutch porcelain that belonged to my Oma and helps to remind me of her.
-Second shelf, left: a souvenir from a Bath, England street artist. He used a 100+ year old camera to take photos, and developed the images right in the street. The resulting image of Bath Abby, while small, is so beautiful and has so much depth.
-top shelf, right, and third shelf, left: WW2 training manuals that belonged to my paternal grandfather. Though I never knew him, I’ve always felt that my interest in WW2 connected me to him in some way.
-bottom shelf, middle: a vintage microscope that Jacob gave to me when I earned my BS in biological sciences.
-bottom shelf, right: a sketch of the River Thames made for me by a London Street artist.
Here’s a sneak peek of our newest home installment! I linked what I could.
