One year ago today! We had only shared our pregnancy news with close family and friends at this point, but I was bursting at the seams to tell the world I was going to be a mom. Happy #SelfcareSunday, friends! I had my first real outing in almost 18 months yesterday, and it was equally amazing and stressful all at the same time. I really hate being away from my Sophia girl, but she had the best day with her Daddy and Grandpa. Putting a full face of makeup on was also a bit of a throwback, especially since becoming a mom. Most of you know that I’ve been heavily focused on skincare for awhile now. #colleenrothschild’s line has been on my “to-try” list for a long time, but I never got around to ordering some items to test. My favorite pumpkin in the patch! 🧡🧡🧡 Broke out all my staples this weekend - lululemon aligns, classic denim jacket and Keds slip-on sneakers. We spent some time at the farmer’s market after our flu shots on Saturday (can you say adulting 😂🤦🏻‍♀️), and Sophia absolutely loved it. These poor pandemic babies are always perplexed when they see more than a few people at one time, but the heirloom pumpkins really excited her. Happy Sunday, friends! We ran errands this morning then tried a new park. Talk about #momlife, right? These days I’m reaching for easy, simple makeup products, so when #beautycountergiftedme their #thinkbiggerthinkbetter mascara, I was eager to give it a try. I must say, I’m rather impressed, especially because it’s a clean formula. Those are notorious for lacking certain mascara features we’ve all come to know and love. @beautycounter did an incredible job formulating a volumizing and lengthening product that’s light enough for days like today. God bless our beautiful Sophia today, tomorrow and always 🤍 I won’t lie…When the sacraments coordinator at our church said they had an opening on September 11th for her baptism, I paused. Although a day of reflection on the tremendous loss we faced as a country, I thought to myself, perhaps all those kind, special souls would look down on our little girl and bless her even more. NYC will always be home. That’s a plain and simple fact. 9/11 changed the course of so many lives. My heart ached on the 20th anniversary, while celebrating our sweet baby. It’s been a while but Self-care Sunday is back! This week’s feature is an oldie but a goodie. Recently, Josie Maran gifted me her amazing whipped argan oil face butter. I used this product for years as a night cream, and adored every second of its ultra hydrating, skin-smoothing properties. I ended up also loving the benefits of plant-based retinol, so I switched things up; however, when you’re pregnant or nursing, those products are off limits. Needless to say, I’ve fallen back in love with this cream and have been reaching for it both day and night. Even if you have oilier skin, I’d recommend giving this a try. She’s thriving and that’s all we can ask for. I’m in no way an expert; however, breastfeeding is trial by fire and I’ve learned a lot along the way.
