We’re not anti-toy, but when every toy has a place and a purpose, the overwhelm drops and playtime becomes intentional.

Here are a few ways to keep it simple and joyful:

✨ Try toy rotation: Store 2/3rds of your child’s toys in bins and rotate them every few weeks (or months). It keeps things fresh and encourages deeper play.

✨ Involve your kids: Before birthdays or holidays, let them help choose toys to “bless another child.” And don’t be above bribing your kiddos to say “no gifts” in their invite. There are lots of different ways to incentivize this.

✨ Donate intentionally: Not sure where to take those gently used toys? We’ve got you covered with The Baer Minimalist Donation Guide—a go-to list of local organizations that welcome your donations with open arms.

✨ With the holidays just around the corner, consider chatting with your broader family about specific things that would enrich your child’s play. Consider group gifts (we are upgrading bikes this year) and experience gifts!

Mahjong has taken Zionsville by storm, so we knew it was only a matter of time before we got to organize a Mahj storage space in a lucky client’s home. This custom Elfa system was originally created to store craft supplies, but with a little magic we carved out a whole section for 🀄️ storage.

When the @showhouseindy wrapped, I found that I was itching to do a project in our home. I had been collecting some really meaningful pieces of art and also felt excited to lighten up the paint color in our family room.

In true “If you Give a Mouse a Cookie” fashion, painting led to adding in wainscoting, which led to hiring @indyartinstallers to professionally hang this fun collection (because you can’t just throw a nail in wainscoting).

Add some battery operated sconces from @pookylightsus and I’d say, we’ve just refreshed my new favorite room in the house!!

This beautiful McKenzie Pierrot Homes stunner in @holliday_farms showcases a small marketing moment from @thebaerminimalist and we are just thrilled to be here. ;)

Everything about The Adelaide Model is thoughtfully designed and effortlessly timeless, from the arched doorways to the intricate marble backsplashes to the fixtures throughout. And ohmygosh, storage abounds.

We loved being invited to showcase our luxury liners inside this pantry cabinet - from textured, to clear to ultra-thin, there is something invaluable about protecting your cabinetry investment from the elements (we are looking at you, oil spills, water leaks and snacky crumbs).

There is so much beauty throughout this house and we hope a lucky buyer finds their perfect home during one of the upcoming weekend open houses! (And let’s hear it for these adorable custom 🏠 🍪- genius)!

A wrapping + craft room dream come true! 🎁🎨

This space went from a solo setup to a perfectly shared station—because creativity runs in the family! ✂️ We took an existing Container Store ELFA unit and doubled it up so both mom and daughter have their own dedicated zones.

Now, wrapping gifts and creating masterpieces can happen side by side in an organized, functional space!

Fine art in a pantry...that is a MAJOR yes for @jessicagreenartwork It was so much fun utilizing the @showhouseindy Artist Program this year to connect with Jessica and have these commissioned pieces created specifically for our space.

A stunning large-scale oil painting, inspired by an elegant table setting, serves as the centerpiece of our Entertaining Pantry. But that’s not all—seven mini paintings are playfully nestled among the shelves, almost like little labels. Can you spot all seven?

While all of these paintings have sold, there are several beautiful pieces from local artists available throughout the home. Come visit this weekend and you might just find a piece that calls your name!!
