Asher’s nursery is almost ready! We’re missing a few details, but it looked so serene in nothing but natural light we wanted to share. The walls are painted Sherwin Williams Urbane Bronze. Such a dark hue might not immediately come to mind for a baby’s room but I think dark bedrooms feel comforting, like the walls are hugging you. Saturated, rich paint creates a calming backdrop and the contrast makes the soft colors and textures we used elsewhere seem even softer. Upper Gallery Upgrade! It took us over a year of living in the house before we figured out what to do with the landing at the top of the stairs. Sure, we could have left it alone but what’s the fun in that! 🤷‍♂️ Scroll to the last photo for the before picture. It was just kind of boring. Not anymore!

I’m on a mission to replace all our can lights with decorative fixtures and this space provided the perfect opportunity. The recessed lights on the ceiling in this space are gone, in their place are three flush mounted fixtures by Urban Electric Company in black iron and brass, chosen to match the custom stair railing.

The bold rug is Alexander McQueen for The Rug Company. The walls, ceiling and panelling are all painted Benjamin Moore #SwissCoffee and the black door is Sherwin Williams #TricornBlack. It’s still a work in progress, we are waiting on a chair for the corner to finish off the space. ⁣

We love these boxwood planter fillers. No mess and no maintenance! The 21” size is shown here, the urns are about 20” in diameter. Order slightly larger than your container size. You literally just set them in place! These look real and we keep adding more of them to pots and patios around our home. Because they are so easy to remove you can also change things up seasonally, think lit trees at Christmas or pumpkins at Halloween. Jackson’s Home & Garden did the gas logs; we like white Birchwood out here. Finally, you can’t go wrong with a Bevolo gas lantern.
