So yes—I will stand. I will stand not because my country is perfect, but because I refuse to give up on what it was meant to be. I will stand for the mothers who raised soldiers and the fathers who taught freedom isn’t free. I will stand for the kids in public schools who recite the Pledge with voices soft and eyes wide. I will stand for the broken-hearted, the still-trying, the ones who remember, and the ones who dream. Because this country, for all its cracks, is still mine. Still yours. Still ours. And the music?
