There’s something about a boat neck (bateau) neckline that really draws me in. It accentuates my collarbone and I feel that this elegant design choice instantly elevates any look. Coupled with the wide neck curvature, this dress has an asymmetrical cut with some fabric layered on one side. This can easily be worn to a cocktail event but I decided to wear it to work! Gone are the days of saving clothes for a special occasion!

Playing with blues today! If there’s an opportunity to spruce up an otherwise boring item, I’ll take it! I was looking for a crisp collar button down and this midnight blue one caught my eye. The glistening buttons were the first thing to stand out among all the other classic pieces on display; I knew I had to add this to my collection immediately! Instead of opting for a simple bottom, I paired this top with an asymmetrical brocade pencil skirt. To add a little more jazz to this look, I wore my jeweled Kurt Geiger heeled mules - the silver crystals that span the top of these heels match the buttons on the button down!

I turned an otherwise simple outfit into something a little different with some faux fur cuffs. I got these back in undergrad as boot cuffs but decided to give them another chance of life as sleeve cuffs. I’m all for shopping my own closet and making the most of what I already own! To break up an otherwise all black outfit, I wore this slate grey A-line skirt.

I wore my contrast collar and cuff top to kick start the year; this executive top with an orchid is the same one I’m wearing in my LinkedIn picture! Instead of wearing it with a leather pencil skirt, I paired it with a midnight blue with red wool plaid midi skirt. Since in office days are typically long, I opted for my suede and leather mules for comfort!

Working in a corporate setting in the heart of biotech means learning how to dress warmly and professionally. Wore a neutral old money inspired look for my meeting today. I normally follow an internal outfit formula and rarely wear two oversized pieces together but I wanted something comfortable. I paired my double breasted plaid blazer with a cropped v-neck sweater vest along with my high waisted pleated trousers. With Fall just a few days away, I wanted to slowly transition my cold weather favorites into my corporate look. Plaids are always a hit so I brought out my slightly oversized blue and brown coat. I layered it on top of a silk sleeveless top and my crochet 3D floral crochet pencil skirt. To keep the focus on my outfit, I wore neutral brown accessories.
