This is a great time of year to repot your plants. Spring and summer, when your plant is actively growing, gives it the best chance of surviving repotting. I’m not saying that you CAN’T repot your plants in fall and winter, but they might not acclimate as well during the dormant season.

I’m loving this plant stand that I found on Amazon recently! This one is bamboo, but it comes in a few other colors/styles too. It fits plant pots 8 inches to 12 inches so it’s a perfect fit for this 10 inch pot from ALDI, and I can adjust it larger when I repot this dwarf umbrella tree plant in a few weeks.

I found this weeping fig at ALDI today and it fits perfectly in this “I love you” pot I found at Target! The plant is 4” and the pot is 4.5” so it’s a perfect fit. 🪴💚 The plant pot is linked in my bio if you’re interested!

Now that we’ve all stocked up on big plants at ALDI, it’s time to start thinking about repotting them in the spring!

Target restocked my favorite self-watering planter pots for spring already, and I’m so excited about all the colors available this year! They are available in big 12”, 16”, and 20" sizes so you can graduate your plants up to the next size. But they also come in a cute little 3.75” two-pack! If you got a 10” plant at ALDI, a 12” or maybe even a 16” pot would be a good size to repot it in!

These are called self-watering, but they won’t water your plants for you. They have a reservoir at the bottom to catch any excess water, like drainage holes. This allows the water to flow past the roots so you don’t get root rot. It also allows the plant to draw up water from that reservoir as needed, if you are on vacation or out of town for a few days. You don’t need to use a drainage pot with these self-watering planter pots, so you can just put your potting mix right in it!
