I just COULD NOT wait any longer!

I started breaking out the Christmas decor this week, and I’m not ashamed! 😜

I usually wait until the weekend before Thanksgiving, but it falls so late this year that I feel like I wouldn’t have enough time with it up!

At least that’s the excuse I’m telling myself... 😂

After spending the last few years mainly working from home in comfy pants and sweatshirts like 90% of the time, it’s been so good so get dressed up every morning to head to work!

November. I can hardly believe we’re knocking on the door of the end of the year already.⁣
⁣
I feel like I spent so much of the early part of this year focused on the external —how type 3 of me, right? But seriously, it was all consuming. And distracting. And honestly, unhealthy.⁣
⁣
— How did I look?⁣
— How much weight have I lost?⁣
— How much money am I making?⁣
— How many new followers do I have?⁣
— How successful am I at X, Y, Z?⁣
⁣
A few months ago, it felt like it all came crashing down. Because I was trying to build on sand. It forced me to take a step back and take a long, hard look at where I was investing my time and my heart.⁣
⁣
And then it hit me — to actually build something meaningful, on a SOLID foundation, I needed to invest in myself first. I needed to intentionally seek out healing, from the inside out. I needed to put my own wellness, mind body and soul, first.⁣
⁣
Girl, I get it. Life is TOUGH. There are responsibilities and relationships and distractions and it is straight up overwhelming, ESPECIALLY when you’re trying to chase your dreams.⁣
⁣
But what if I told you that the real key to achieving those dreams is to stop chasing all together.⁣
⁣
What if the key isn’t sacrificing yourself on the altar of accomplishing one. more. thing. but instead it’s turning your attention on yourself?⁣
⁣
I know, it feels selfish and backwards — but hear me out.⁣
⁣
When you focus on yourself, and your own wholeness and wellness, I promise you’ll find that the cup that was nearing empty before is slowly filling back up. And once it’s full? That’s when the overflow happens.⁣
⁣
Here’s my challenge for you on this first day of the second half of the year — take 30 minutes today and do something for YOU.⁣
⁣
Meditate. Pray. Read. Take a warm bath. Go for a walk. Sit in the sun.⁣
⁣
Whatever you do, do it for YOU. Because as the age old saying goes, you can’t pour from an empty cup.⁣
⁣
So, what will do today to take time for yourself? I want to hear allllll about it! xo

Every time we venture out, I fall more and more in love with this city. We’ve been what feels like EVERYWHERE — suburban towns, big cities, out in the country, not to mention a huge variety of weather ranging from hot Florida summers to frigid New England winters.

But after two months here, this city feels... different. In the best way. It’s bustling and full of life and culture, but still cozy and intimate in its own unique way.

Tampa is stealing my heart, and I think maybe, just maybe, this is where it will stay ❤️

A restful morning at home before Craig and I head down to Rhode Island for a little pre-Valentine’s Day getaway. If you’ve been following along on the blog and my Stories, you know that I’ve been working on our dining room. We have a new table and chairs, moved a new rug into the room, added a console table that’s serving as a coffee bar — but I’ve had such a creative block when it came to styling the main wall!

My lovely mother in law bought us this cute galvanized “gather” sign for Christmas, and I’ve been waiting to find the perfect spot for it. This weekend, while I was tired of staring at a blank wall, I attached the sign to a burlap pin board I’ve had laying around, and voila — this adorable feature above our coffee bar!
