I think I could have a new favorite heat protectant. I've used the L'Oreal Paris Elvive Dream Lengths Heat Slayer Pre-Iron Spray on my relaxed hair a few times. Once when I did a roller set and the other two times when I blow-dried my hair. The results were soft and smooth hair.

When I’m flat ironing my relaxed hair, the Mielle Mongongo Oil Pomade-to-Oil Treatment is one of my go-to heat styling products.

It starts as a solid pomade but melts into a lightweight oil once you warm it between your hands. The mongongo oil helps provide heat defense while also smoothing frizz and helping prevent reversion, even in humid weather.
I use this only when flat ironing.

After blow-drying with a heat protectant spray, I apply it section by section as I flat iron, and it leaves my hair smooth, shiny, and polished.

I don’t love it for blow-drying since the thicker texture is harder to distribute on wet hair, but for flat ironing? It really delivers.
